Kitchen Opinions
I'm going to try to attach a photo...
We are redoing our kitchen, I ordered slightly off-white cabinets in a style similar to shaker, but with a little bit of molding inlay. When I went to the cabinet store I fell in love with this backsplash in the picture, but have had a very hardtime finding granite to match. I finally found this granite, but it's very rare and expensive and I'm not sure I want to pay the money just to get the backsplash I want (I would not get this granite if I weren't getting this backsplash).
I've looked at this so many times I'm not even sure if it looks good together. Our floors are a reddish oak (as you see in the picture), cabinets are the white color you see in the picture, and then the granite/backsplash as you see.
Please give me your opinions - do you like it? Is it too modern? Should I go in another direction.
Thanks in advance!
(Sorry it's sideways :()

love the backsplash not sure about the granite but it could be my screen its reading very green. I would probably go more towards the Carmel/gold but that's just my personal preference.

I kind of agree.
But if you love the look at that color granite but worried that it's too expensive, would you be open to finding something similar in a different material?

I agree. I see how the color of the granite is picked up in some of the backsplash tiles, but I don't think that granite is the best match for that tile. I think a different granite (more of the browns/golds) would look better with that backsplash, as well as the cabinets and floor.

I agree, have you thought of Quartz, because of the lack of variation with quartz you will likely be able to find something that you like without it costing a ridiculous amount of money.

I actually love the granite with the white cabinets. It almost looks like a green version of Carrera marble. But I don't love the backsplash - I think its a little too modern with those cabinets.

I think I would stick to a more Whitish granite. I think with the wood floors white cabinets green counter and multicolor backsplash it will be too choppy.

Thank you all for your opinions. I looked at many quartz options but didn't like them. I also tried caramel/gold/brown granite and it was almost too much w the floor or the granite was too busy. I think I am going to go to the granite yard to see the slab in person before I decide. I can't believe how much time I'm wasting thinking about granite

I would retake the picture and set it up how it will look in the kitchen. Put a piece of cabinet between the floor and the granite and another above the backsplash.
I think the floor and the granite are throwing it off.

Re: Kitchen Opinions
My FIL has that granite. It was double the price of everything else I like it with the white cabinets but not with that backsplash.

I'm honestly not a fan of the backsplash with the white cabinets. The granite looks fine with the backsplash, or the cabinets, but I feel the backsplash is what is out of place. I'm not thinking that the granite is sooo great that I'd pay double for it.
Also, not to send you somewhere else, but check out the kitchen forum on gardenweb, they are great with all things kitchen, and are obsessed with it, very helpful people. I spent a bunch of time over there when we redid our kitchen.

It's a huge decision! You're absolutely right to take a lot of time. You need to LOVE it!

I don't care for the backsplash. I think it's too current and will look outdated pretty quick. I would go for something a little simpler and it will open up your granite choices as well.

Re: Kitchen Opinions
Your selections are beautiful. The backsplash will really make the cabinets pop and the granite looks fantastic with it to soften the white. Good job!

I love it all too. It's not my style but it all seems to complement each other in a unique way. If you love it, go for it!
