I can't shop early because DD's wish list changes like the wind. So what she may want now will be long forgotten and by December she'll want something new and exciting.
So i just wait and do it all online
This!!! This is so DS 2 - he has a list and he feels Santa only will bring him 3 things. Now that Nick Jr shows commercials, the list changes DAILY!
I have some ideas for my older DS - his b-day and Christmas are in the same week. We're redoing our basement so he will be getting some sort of video game system and games... He's also expressed interest in biking without training wheels so possibly a new bike as well.

Re: Let's talk Christmas gifts
I didn't intend it this way, but I realized that everything I picked up for both girls have been made of wood. So I suppose that's the theme this year! Some puzzles, shape sorter, building kits, and the big thing will be a kidcraft dollhouse for dd1. somehow with it all being made from wood, it seems less like junk toys laying around the house!

Let's talk Christmas gifts
I buy things during the year and save them for xmas...we do the something to wear, something to read, something you want and something you need plus 1 gift from santa...and Santa has a budget since he has to bring toys to all the kids in the world. Keeps the list short and I dont spend too much.
