Re: Li Lawyer Salaries

Honestly, I would not work as a lawyer for less than 100k
I think that depends on what area of law you go into and why you go into it. You couldnt pay me enough to be a corperate lawyer. I have zero interest. Thats not why I went to law school.I graduated with honors from a good law school and could have gone in a different direction. I didnt expect to make big $ nor do many people who become lawyers. I work for the city trying to protect children from abuse and neglect. We dont make enough for the work that we do but thats not why we do it. If everyone was in it for the money there wouldnt be good public sector lawyers who truly love what they do and are super important to the functioning of our society.

Re: Li Lawyer Salaries
It's interesting to read other attorney experiences and perspectives. I feel very fortunate in the path I have taken since law school. I worked as an attorney for a federal agency for the last 7 years and transferred to a new federal agency last summer in a non-attorney role by choice. I was a bit hesitant to step out of the attorney position, but it was a great decision. I'll be honest, I'll have to work harder just to get back to my old earning potential. I didn't take a pay cut but my salary band was higher in my old job, which annoys me to no end because I actually do more work now. So that has really been the only frustrating downside but I love the work and my co-workers and I will be in a better position for future advancement both in my own organization and outside as well.
