Long Car Ride Learning
We're going on vacation (yay!) next week.
It's a long car ride.. I think 4 hours.. to Hershey and we want to keep the boys occupied.
They have DSi's.. but I don't want them playing video games the entire time. I am thinking that we need to come up with some alternative ideas.
I have some things to read to them/with them but I would really like to come up with some brain twisters/challenges for them to work on during the ride. Any ideas?

This is a fun site! I'll definitely use some of their ideas.
What I'm looking MORE for is challenges I can throw down and let my kids puzzle through. For example - Robbie, Noah and I were having a conversation about birds and how they build nests. I challenged them to make nests for themselves using only what they could find in and around the house and without destroying anything. It was a good exercise for them because it was a lot harder than they thought it would be!! And they did a lot of research on birds and different types of nests in the process. Their end results were actually pretty cool and creative!. Obviously the car ride limits what they can do PHYSICALLY.. but I want to exercise their noggins and creativity in some way..
