Re: Losing a pet, friend or family member
I'm so sorry When a pet is sick it can turn your whole life upside down... I lost my Shar-pei last summer to cancer.
that your furbaby makes a full recovery! And, please take care of yourself too!

Re: Losing a pet, friend or family member
Crashing........ Just want to say Im so sorry. I know losing a pet is just like losing a close family member. I lost my mom suddenly 3 weeks before my DD was born. Everyone is going to tell you to stay strong for the baby but I want to tell you that it is ok to cry. I never cried so hard and so much in my entire life! The baby will be ok.

Re: Losing a pet, friend or family member
my heart breaks for all of you who have gone through such terrible things...life seems so unfair sometimes doesn't it? i wish i could hug you all for sharing your stories
we found out that my dog has some type of aggressive cancer, probably lymphoma of the GI tract, they also think she had pancreatitis because the test for that came back positive while she was sick, so a double whammy....she is on steroid injections to keep her comfortable but it's only a matter of time, she is weak and isn't eating and i'm not going to keep medicating her just to drag out the inevitable while she wastes away...at least the pain seems to be gone....once it sets in again we'll have to put her down but i'm hoping she passes on her own in her sleep before she starts getting physically ill again...i'm feeling better but i know once she takes a turn it's going to be bad, but now i'm trying to enjoy whatever time we have left, vet said it's pretty grim...
thank you all so much, again i'm so sorry that some of you have lost pets and loved ones during what is supposed to be one of the most happy times...it sucks....

Re: Losing a pet, friend or family member
I hope she stays as comfortable as possible for the time she has left I'm so sorry. I totally know what you're going through in that regard too. My 18 year old cat is also on a "its just a matter of time" path. She doesn't have cancer but she has early kidney failure and thyroid problems. It could be a couple of months, it could be a year. And I really do get what you mean that you wish she just goes in her sleep... I hate having to make the decision for them. My prayers are with you and your pup.

I am so sorry that you are going through this. I cried while reading your post - especially after seeing your photo. My dog, also a Sharpei passed away at 9 years old from cancer in the lymph nodes of the neck. She truly was my best friend and it still breaks my heart. Thinking of you during this terrible time.
