Lost iphone and getting pics/videos back?
So DH lost his iphone the other day, he's pretty sure he threw it out with his newspaper so it's gone for good. Of course it had some pictures and videos of the kids on it that I *really* want back.
We're both pretty clueless about iphones and that whole icloud thing. I'm wondering if there's some way to get them back? I assumed that was the purpose of the "cloud", although I really have no idea what it is/does.
Can someone who knows anything about this help me out?

Depending on your settings, they should all be in the cloud. I believe iPhones are set up to automatically send everything (again, depending on your settings) to the cloud when it's connected to a computer or wi-fi. I was lost with setting up my new phone, too, but since everything was in the cloud, my new phone looks exactly the same as my old phone- same apps, contacts, photos, even the ringtones and the background images are the same! Take it to your provider or the Apple store and see if they can help you look it up. I believe they just need your Apple ID (e-mail address) and password and even the password can get sent to your e-mail account. Good luck!

Ohhhh, that would be awesome! I hope you're right. DH is going today to get a new phone so I'm going to make sure he mentions this to them! I think he's going to Best Buy, so I hope they know what they're talking about. Otherwise, maybe we'll need to go to the Apple store.
Thanks!

Lost iphone and getting pics/videos back?
I just bought a new phone and it was extremely important to me to get all my pics and videos as I have a newborn.
When he gets the phone he needs to set it up as an existing phone. It willl prompt you as soon as the phone starts up. It will take a little while for all the photos etc to load up but as long as it was backed up recently you will get everything. Like pp said it is automatically set to back up if it is connected to wifi, locked and connected to a power source. The only way it would be diff is if your dh manually changed that feature
