low lying placenta? anyone have this?
I'm at 9 1/2 weeks and had my first sono and was told I have a low lying placenta, but not to worry because it might move. Anyone else have this?

Re: low lying placenta? anyone have this?
I had this with my last pregnancy... lots of people get it... mine eventually moved really late into the pregnancy... the only thing it meant for me was I got MANY more sonos... buy I enjoyed that because I got to see my baby that many more times on the screen! If it dosnt move then they will schedule you for a C-section and tell you to take it easy later on in the pregnancy or put you on bed rest... if you look at the bottome of this thread at the related posts, you'll see a lot more info that has been posted on this board about it.

Re: low lying placenta? anyone have this?
A few of my friends had a low lying placenta and it moved for them. Apparently it is very common.
I happen to have a complete placenta previa - meaning that my placenta is completely covering my cervix. DD has no way out.
I am supposed to be taking it easy (no bedrest yet, thank God) and I will be delivering by scheduled c-section. I am 28 weeks. They hoped my placenta would move, but no luck.

Re: low lying placenta? anyone have this?
I had this at 12 weeks. I bled a little bit too and b/c of that I was put on bed rest for a few days. I stopped bleeding right away actually. Then I was put on restriction...no lifting, bending, no sex, etc...then by 16 weeks it resolved itself then at like 20 weeks it happened again, LOL...now I am at 31 weeks and it is all resolved!!! LOL don't worry!!!

Re: low lying placenta? anyone have this?
I may have this - I find out today at my Level II. I've had some spotting during my second trimester (brown) and the dr thinks it may be the cause.
ETA: My dr said just to take it easy and it could correct itself.

Re: low lying placenta? anyone have this?
Yes, with my first pregnancy I had the low lying placenta.
I was told to not have sex, not lift heavy things and wait until the 20 week anatomy scan to see if it had moved.
At the 20 week scan, the placenta was not an issue anymore, so it did move for me. Very common.

Re: low lying placenta? anyone have this?
I have low placenta- and in front... no sex- sucks.. husband getting antsy!
ha ha.
anyway- i'm 21 weeks now- everything is OK but still placenta hasn't moved.
I'm having a repeat C/S anyway- so it makes no difference to me- just do NOT want to be on rest.
