Re: low sodium lunch options

Really only salads to be honest.
And even with that you have to watch.
If you get it from a restaurant there is a ton of hidden sodium.
I almost passed out when I looked online at the nutrition info for a salad I love at Applebees. Over 1000 mg of sodium. Chat Icon
Are they soaking the lettuce in brine?

If you can make your own salad with grilled chicken and use minimal dressing.

All lunch meats are SO salty and so is anything frozen too. It stinks! I know! Chat Icon

Try and drink water all day it helps!! I get so bored of it, but you really have to force yourself & make a habit of it.

UNfortunately, the majority of what is available is packed with sodium. I agree with the pp. Try to drink a lot of water. It does help reduce swelling. Also, start sleeping with your legs elevated above your heart. I have found that it helps me a lot

thanks ladies! i already drink about 100 oz of water a day, sit with my legs up at work and home, and sleep on my left side.
so i'll stry leeping with my legs elevated and adding more salads and making a bunch a grilled chicken for the week. Chat Icon

All great ideas. I started icing my cankles as well.
If you grill chicken at home use Mrs Dash as a seasoning.
Yummy and salt free!

nothing stops the swelling for me either....drink all the water in the world, sit and sleep with feet elevated, ice them when I can...nothing works. I mean the ice brings the swelling down...but throughout the day - nothing stops it from happening. I wake up and my feet look great...no swelling. The minute I step out of the shower I notice they have started to swell already...it stinks!
Only shoes I can fit into at this point are my husbands Reefs!

I'm getting to this point too.
The only time they look great is on a Saturday night after they have been up on the couch armrest all day.
Then they look perfect!
