measuring "ahead" and schedule c-section

So, I went for my 34 week appt. today and my growth sonogram and it looks as if i'm measuring at 35.5 weeks instead. The baby is weighing in at 5 and a half lbs.
They didn't mention changing my c-section date, but they did stress the importance of keeping track of his movements and calling them immediately if I notice a slow down in his movement. Also, they said they will now start treating me like I'm 35.5 weeks, so I have to go back every week now. But if they're treating me like I'm 35.5 weeks, wouldn't they need to change my c-section date? It didn't occur to me to ask at the time, but is anyone else dealing with this? I'm afraid of going into labor before my c-section!

So in actuality your c/s is now going to be when you are 40 weeks?

I would maybe call my doctor? I know Stony Brook won't schedule a c/s before 39 weeks so maybe if they change your due date?

Re: measuring "ahead" and schedule c-section

Yeah, that's what's concerning me. I mean, when I got pregnant, they told me my due date was a week before what it is now, then after my first sono, they pushed it back a week. Now, it's basically back to the original date, but without them actually changing it. I have to go in next week and they said they'd do an internal, so we'll see. Originally I wasn't going to have any internals, so I guess that's how they're going to monitor it? Who knows. I'm just nervous now!

Re: measuring "ahead" and schedule c-section

Well, I don't know if it makes a difference, but he's supposedly 5lbs 8oz., sorry, I meant five and half lbs. I can't imagine those three ounces makes that much of a differenceChat Icon Who knows. I guess there's no point in worrying. It is what it is, right? If this is average size for a baby at this point, he's going to be a freaking giant by the time I have him!Chat Icon

Re: measuring "ahead" and schedule c-section

I would be concerned also & might be facing the same issue even though I am only 20weeks. When i went for my last 2 sonos, DS is measuring a full week ahead but they said they are sticking with my original due date. My first DS was 10 days late, but I don't want to go into labor this time around if I don't have to

I agree with Nicrae call your Doc and see what they say when you bring this up. Who knows you may be out of your uncomfy phase before you know itChat Icon
