measuring "ahead" and schedule c-section
So, I went for my 34 week appt. today and my growth sonogram and it looks as if i'm measuring at 35.5 weeks instead. The baby is weighing in at 5 and a half lbs. They didn't mention changing my c-section date, but they did stress the importance of keeping track of his movements and calling them immediately if I notice a slow down in his movement. Also, they said they will now start treating me like I'm 35.5 weeks, so I have to go back every week now. But if they're treating me like I'm 35.5 weeks, wouldn't they need to change my c-section date? It didn't occur to me to ask at the time, but is anyone else dealing with this? I'm afraid of going into labor before my c-section!

Re: measuring "ahead" and schedule c-section
So in actuality your c/s is now going to be when you are 40 weeks?
I would maybe call my doctor? I know Stony Brook won't schedule a c/s before 39 weeks so maybe if they change your due date?

Re: measuring "ahead" and schedule c-section
Yeah, that's what's concerning me. I mean, when I got pregnant, they told me my due date was a week before what it is now, then after my first sono, they pushed it back a week. Now, it's basically back to the original date, but without them actually changing it. I have to go in next week and they said they'd do an internal, so we'll see. Originally I wasn't going to have any internals, so I guess that's how they're going to monitor it? Who knows. I'm just nervous now!

Re: measuring "ahead" and schedule c-section
Well, I don't know if it makes a difference, but he's supposedly 5lbs 8oz., sorry, I meant five and half lbs. I can't imagine those three ounces makes that much of a difference Who knows. I guess there's no point in worrying. It is what it is, right? If this is average size for a baby at this point, he's going to be a freaking giant by the time I have him!

Re: measuring "ahead" and schedule c-section
I would be concerned also & might be facing the same issue even though I am only 20weeks. When i went for my last 2 sonos, DS is measuring a full week ahead but they said they are sticking with my original due date. My first DS was 10 days late, but I don't want to go into labor this time around if I don't have to

I agree with Nicrae call your Doc and see what they say when you bring this up. Who knows you may be out of your uncomfy phase before you know it
