Menopur Injections
I just started these injections 2 days ago and they burn like hell going in. Is this typical for menopur? My belly is so sore in the 2 areas that I injected, I'm a belly sleeper and can't even sleep on my belly because of the soreness. i don't have bruising or anything its just sore to the touch. Has this happened to anyone else while taking menopur? Btw when do you typically start feeling symptoms from the IVF injections. I'm waiting to feel something but I have nothing right now, then again it's only been 2 days with the injections.

Re: Menopur Injections
Yes, Menopur is the devil! It definitely burned when I took it. I think I started feeling the effects of the drugs after a few days. I felt bloated mostly. I felt emotional but DH claims I acted fine. Maybe I'm a mess all the time!!!
Good Luck

Re: Menopur Injections
I had the same reaction to Menopur...and the bruising too! My follies were very stubborn and refused to grow - I was on stims for 2 weeks! - I didn't feel bloated until they finally started growing, I'd say around day 10 of stims.

Menopur Injections
I hated Menopur. It burns so much. I had some bruising too. I always dreaded that shot while Gonal F was a walk in the park. Menopur and PIO were the worst for me. Hang in there.

Menopur Injections
Menopur does burn when injecting, but it's well worth it. During my first fresh cycle (17 eggs retrieved)I felt like something was going on (cramping and discomfort after about 3 days of injections. With my second fresh cycle I don't recall feeling anything until trigger day(31 or 33 eggs retrieved).

Re: Menopur Injections
Thanks so much for sharing your experiences ladies! Glad that I'm not alone. I guess there's not much I can do except look at the big picture and the reason why I'm doing this and deal with the burn.

Re: Menopur Injections
Menopur was horrible going in. Numb the area with ice first. It does help a little.
I started feeling the emotional effects about 3 days after starting meds. And like hell physically about 4-5 days.
I was much crazier on infertility drugs then I have been pregnant.
And I was so bloated I called myself an overripe fruit tree.

Re: Menopur Injections
I always said that menopur felt like i was injecting myself with acid that was lit on fire. I used to put an ice pack over the injection site for a few minutes AFTER injecting. It really helped to minimize the soreness/bruising.

Re: Menopur Injections
The first time I tried menopur I called the nurse almost in tears because I thought I mixed something wrong because of the burning. You get used to it very fast and from what I remember, you will only use it for 2 weeks max! Hopefully it goes by fast for you with optimal results!!

Good old menopur!!! It does burn lbut you get used to it. When you mix it let it sit for a few minutes. Don't inject right away. I felt that helped.
