Michelle Dugger Trying to get Pregnant with 20th Child
COME ON!! REALLY???
After suffering a devastating miscarriage in December 2011, Michelle Duggar is trying to get pregnant again with her 20th child. The 19 Kids and Counting reality TV mom says she and husband Jim Bob Duggar are hoping to be "blessed" with another pregnancy.
"I would hope, but we are not expecting right now," Michelle, 47, shares in a new interview with Celebrity Baby Scoop. "I would be so grateful if the Lord blessed us with another one. We're trying at this point and we shall see if that is a possibility. If not, we are so thankful and grateful for the ones that God has given us so far. We are also definitely enjoying our grandbabies! They are so precious!"
Michelle and Jim Bob, 48, are already parents to 19 children with names all starting with "J," and have three grandchildren: Their oldest son Josh, 25, is a father of three with wife Anna: Mackynzie, 4, Michael, 2, and Marcus, 4 months.
In an interview with the TODAY show in April, Michelle and Jim Bob, married 29 years, said they have considered adopting their 20th child. "We're praying about if the Lord would want us to adopt," Michelle said. Jim Bob added, "We have set up our home to be designed for taking care of children. We love children, and we really believe every child is a special gift from God."
Michelle tells Celebrity Baby Scoop that she doesn't believe in overpopulation. "We have studied it and I believe that there is a misconception about overpopulation. I think that the whole mindset of overpopulation is really overrated," the Duggar family matriarch explains. "A few years back, we stated that the whole population of the world could be stood shoulder-to-shoulder in Jacksonville. That may have changed a little bit since we've heard that statistic."
"I think that there is this ideology that goes behind overpopulation that I don't really agree with," she adds. "It's a different perspective and that's where people have their different ideas, and that's okay. That's what makes the world go around; there are many different ideas and different perspectives about certain topics."

I know woman CAN get pregnant at 47, but is is pretty unlikely and probably risky given her recent past. I think she just says this because they don't prevent pregnancies.

A- This isn't news. They have always said they  & leave the    up to the Lord.
B-
Jim Bob added, "We have set up our home to be designed for taking care of children. We love children, and we really believe every child is a special gift from God."
With one big room for girls & one big room for boys, it really is like a group home, so maybe they should adopt.
C-

There is also something called science. And evolution, but I guess that is just a different "perspective", too.
D- She said in a recent episode that they have to are learning to accept that sometimes seasons of life change, but they rally aren't if they adopt.
It's as if they feel they aren't ready to go from being parents to grandparents, but their youngest living child is not quite 4, so they still have a lot of parenting to do.
E-This nonsense is just publicity for the new season of their show.

That was my first thought- they always said they'd continue doing their thing and leave it up to God. But adopting a TWENTIETH child is NOT leaving it up to God IMO.

I'm surprised her uterus hasn't fallen out yet. My grandma had 7 kids and hers practically did!

I knew she wasn't young, especially since she has older kids, but I didn't realize she was 48. She def. looks much younger than that! I had read they were going to adopt. If that's what makes them happy, so be it. I wouldn't be trying to get pregnant at 48 though. Too many risks.
As a side note, I love their daughter in law, she seems so sweet and down to earth, and soooo patient. Their kids are so freaking adorable too!

iIwould never in a milliion years have that many kids. but somehow it works for their family. other than the size of it, they seem normal.
the kids run around, they play, learn, eat, grow. it doesnt look like they are on welfare, so im not paying for them. Doesnt matter to me how many kids they have. Im sure there are some kids out there that could really use a good home and family, so if they decide to adopt, more power to them.

Did anyone watch the show last night and notice how BOTH the father and son said it was love at first site with their wives and the wives had much different stories how they met?
Maybe I am thinking too much into this but it seems that they both were not really "into them" in the beginning but "settled" because they knew they were going to be good financial supporters (and christians).

I think her miscarriage should've been a huge wake up call to them. Maybe it was The Lord telling her to stop.

If they really want #20, I really hope they adopt! Not only is she old, I think her body is probably beyond spent from all of the other pregnancies....why would they risk it?

Its her body she can do what she wants. I don't think there is any possibility that she gets pregnant again but if she does God Bless her. Those kids seem to be normal, well rounded and extremely intelligent. If it works for their family and they are not living off of the government teat then why fuss? And if it doesn't work out I wouldn't be surprised if they adopt a few children. I know that was brought up in an episode awhile back.

am i the only one who thinks there is something wrong with her? like, a mental illness or something? to put your body through pregnancy, childbirth and then the raising of 20 children seems like an insane thing to do. i kind of feel like there is an element of attention seeking going on here, and maybe something psychological as to why she needs that attention.
