It was an interesting book to read but very upsetting !

I say it every time this family comes up in conversation...if they can afford to financially and emotionally care for that many children, god bless them.
just because not everyone wants that lifestyle for themselves doesn't make it wrong or weird. They seem like a wonderful family and their children seem to have more morals than most in this day and age...they must be doing SOMETHING right.
I agree with you.
I think it's very unfair and unkind to judge them. They are raising kind, moral, hard working citizens. The more people like that out there in the world the better IMO.
 unless it's your uterus and your money supporting them how is it any of our business? If she has 30 kids how does that effect you?

I would be shocked if he WASN'T involved with an extremely conservative party. Given his upbringing I definitely don't expect him to start waving a rainbow flag and promote abortion.
Yep. Sorry but these are closed minded people and they are bringing their kids up the same way. I really hope one of them "breaks" from the family and realizes that there is a big world out there and that they don't have to follow what their family says and does.
To each their own. Just because you don't like the way they are raising their kids doesn't make it wrong. People have kids everyday that are closed minded, evil, mean or whatever. Not everyone fly s a flag and supports homosexual marriage, Pro choice, and a hundred other things YOU think is right. Doesn't make them any less allowed to have kids. Plus they are TTC just like they did 19 other times. By using no bc. It's not like they are doing fertility treatments.

Is it a hate group or an ultra-conservative group? There is a bug difference.
I agree with the above poster. Do I agree with their ultra-conservative beliefs....no, but I don't think they are bad people for their beliefs. I think being closed minded to their POV is no different than them being close minded about the lifestyle choices of others.
If they are part of an active HATE group, that is different and that would be a problem for me.

It was an interesting book to read but very upsetting !
IDK, That seems suspect, In every episode that they talk about their religion, they say they "homechurch" with other area families,no official pastor or anything, they arent affiliated with any denomination and the show shows them attendeding various other churches when away from home.

They are SO closed minded that believe that the bible is history.
Bless them for living their life and being good people.
Its too bad they are so stupid to pass on dis-information and just plain wrong teaching to their children.
