Midwife vs. Doctor
i am just curious....
why would someone use a midwife over a doctor or vice versa? i see a lot of girls are using a midwife. what do you think the pro's/con's are?

I'm using a midwife because I'm intent on having a natural birth and wanted my care provider to be 100% supportive. I didn't/don't want a typical hospital birth, I want to be able to labor in any position that gives me relief, including in water. I don't want to be offered drugs and I want the person by my side to be used to attending natural births.
If you're not gung-ho on a natural birth, you may be better off with an OB.
