OK, so I just got back from looking at the Arcadia (which I LOVE but it's out of my price range) and the Town and Country. Looks like I'm going to be a minivan mom...Town and Country it is for us. I think I'm still in shock Chat Icon Chat Icon

Di..why aren't you getting another Jeep? I had the Jeep with both kids. PLENTY of room for them and in the trunk.

I think you secretly WANT to be a "minivan mom"Chat Icon

Because with Real Estate I need to have a place for my buyers to sit, especially since I never take the carseats out. KWIM? Believe me, I would love if I didn't need a third row! Chat Icon

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I really really don't. I want to be an Acardia Mom but it's just too much $$ Chat Icon

Although, after talking to my mom about the minivan alittle I'm getting excited. I'll be happy to store Jack's toy bag and crapola, and also the DVD player and camera in the back. I have to talk it up somehow in my mind Chat Icon

Re: Mini Van Moms- Come in!

We bought a used 2007 Grand Caravan with practically no mileage for an amazing price from a dealer. I ALWAYS hated mini-vans but with 3 small children it's the only way to go. I LOVE,LOVE, LOVE the stow away seats. I keep the one behind the driver folded under all the time so the kids can climb in and out on their own. It has great storage plus the trunk space.

I think I missed the announcement...Chat Icon

Honda Odyssey! This is what we bought in September and we are in love with it. I was a little freaked out about getting a minivan but the no-stress car situation is just heaven. It also rides like a luxury car, isnt too bad on gas, has lots of fun features and upgrades. Best car decision we ever made. Before the mini we had a SUV with a 3rd row and with Nina and DH's 2 boys, it was just useless.

Just got this too, 2 weeks ago. My friends make fun of me, but let me tell you this van is awesome!!!! I was so anti MV also, but honestly it drives like my infiniti, smooth ride. Cant wait to drive down to FL in it Chat Icon

Re: Mini Van Moms- Come in!

I literally JUST became a mini-van mom last night around 9:30pm!!!!

We bought (not leased) a 2010 Toyota Sienna LE. We added package #2 which included TWO power doors and some other crap...who knows...I was just interested in the dual power. Chat Icon We also got the passive alarm. Final price was $28K. We put down 12K and will finance for 48 mos. and I think the payment will be around $450.

The dealership had several 08s/09s that looked great--and with less than 45K miles...price was around 20K for the 09. My DH wanted to go that route, but I've never had a new car in my life and damn it, I wanted one! Chat Icon

Also, believe it or not...the 2011s are coming out at the end of the month ALREADY! So, as a result, you may be able to get a good deal on a '10 since they'll soon be considered "old."

Drove the car for the first time this morning and I'm SOOOO excited!!

Re: Mini Van Moms- Come in!

Before I got my car that I have now we looked at minivan's and I couldn't believe how expensive they were.

We didn't want to put anything down on a lease (there was no way I was buying a minivan) and they were just to much. I loved the Toyota Sienna though.

If you do plan on buying, I would definitely look into getting a used one that is many 2 years old.

Re: Mini Van Moms- Come in!

We bought used...a 2006...buet it has hardly any miles, dual power doors, 3 heat sections, 7 airbags, crash proof windows etc etc....better options then we found on someo f the 09/10 models of certain vans. ..We put just over $3K down and our Monthly payments are $160. ( but b/c of the added security and safety features in the mini van, we switched insurance carriers and saved $110 a month in insurance, so we lucked out, with our true payments being almost nothing based on the insurance savings) ..... We searched around a bit for lowest interest rate though too. We have so-so credit and were able to get a 7% interest rate ( excellent for us! by looking around) ...
