misc. c-section questions
How soon after your c-section were you food shopping, cleaning, and cooking? Also, I know when you have a natural birth, you can get the babies hand/foot stamped right into your baby book in the birthing room (my SIL did this). Since I'm having a c-section and it will be in the OR, when would I have the babies (2) hands/feet stamped into their books? I don't want to do this at home.

Re: misc. c-section questions
I was at the store exactly one week after birth food shopping...I was still walking a bit slow but I was walking
DD was born on a Tuesday, by wednesday evening, dh and I were strolling around the hospital floor...I was VERY slow and still a bit hunched over then but it is IMPERATIVE that you get up and move
The nurse gave me a piece of paper with dd's handprint and footprint that I put right into her baby book, just make sure you ask them to do this

Re: misc. c-section questions
I was up and about 2 weeks after my section. As for the footprints, I would ask them to do it in the OR. After they stamped DS feet they showed me his footprints so they can probably do it in there.

Re: misc. c-section questions
We told the nurse that we had a baby book and wanted her feet stamped in it. The nurse weighed and measured DD in the recovery room in front of us and did the foot stamps for us then. Make sure you DH has the book available. When it was decided that I was going to have a c-section (DD got stuck) I kept saying to DH "camera and baby book". He was more worried about me but had the camera and book when needed.
I started light cleaning and cooking at about 4 weeks, food shopping at about 6 weeks and was fully myself by around 8-10 weeks, but I had some complications with my incision which wasn't fully healed until about 12 weeks.

Re: misc. c-section questions
The day I came home from the hospital I was up doing everything, but I still felt pain. I was up on my doing a lot of cleaning around the house. They tell you it is very good to walk after your c-section to help the swelling in your feet. Actually I was more comfortable sitting or standing because it really hurt when I had to get up from lying down.

Re: misc. c-section questions
Being my 3rd child I didn't have a baby book (poor kid got jipped) but I did ask the nurse in the or and they had a card to put the baby's footprints on. I delivered at night so by the am I was taking a shower and walking around the hopital. Get up as soon as you can is the best advice I can give you. I went home by the 3rd day (could of stayed 4 by I wanted to get home to my other children) more good advice take the extra day Overall I felt great the day I came home took it a little easy but by the the next day I was cleaning, even gave my dog a bath and had my husband take me to the stores that night to do some shopping. (I wan't a loud to drive for 2wks)

Re: misc. c-section questions
I went to the maill when DS was 6 days old. I was walking around the hospital the day after I had DS. At the hospital that DS was born at, they stamped his feet onto a certificate that stated that he was born on that day and gave it to me in the hospital.

Re: misc. c-section questions
I was up and walking around right away, I went to stores 2 weeks after I had Julia, I couldn't really walk around to much cause I was in some pain, and I also couldn't drive for 6 weeks, so I had to have my mom pick me up and take me places. I started cooking right away, nothing fancy pretty much quick and easy recipies--lol
I stamped Julia's feet and hand's into her baby book when I got home from the hospital, she was also in NICU for a week.
