Miscarrying naturally and Beta HCG
How long after a natural miscarriage did your beta number go down to < 5? I just had a natural miscarriage. As of this week my number is 75. How long can I expect it to take?
Thanks so much all.

Re: Miscarrying naturally and Beta HCG
Thank you for responding and your kind words.
Are you saying three weeks from when you miscarried or three weeks from when your number was around where mine is?
Thanks so much. So sorry you both have been there.

Re: Miscarrying naturally and Beta HCG
I just wanted to say I am so sorry for your loss!!
I never had my numbers checked so I dont know when my levels were back to 0. I had to have a d&c and a little over 5 weeks later I got AF.

Re: Miscarrying naturally and Beta HCG
I miscarried naturally on 10/31. I just stopped bleeding on 11/5. I got my numbers tested yesterday, but won't have the results until Monday. I did take a test this morning just to see if I had any hcg at all, and the FRER came back positive..although it was on the fainter side. My guess is that I will be down to < 5 in another week...2 weeks post m/c.

I guess we are in the same boat. How far along were you? I was a little over 6 weeks. Depending on how far along you were might impact your beta numbers.

Re: Miscarrying naturally and Beta HCG
I've m/c naturally twice.
The first one it took 6 wks. I hit 2 and got my period the same day. (It was the day that I had my blood drawn, that's the only way that I knot this.)
I am still waiting for them to come down from my second one. I just went last Monday and it was 372. I was 2.5 wks post m/c when I had the blood taken. My numbers were a lot higher this time around when they discovered the the PG was not viable. I was up to 20,000 when they took my blood and then it dropped to 15,000 48 hours later. I think it may take longer this time for them to come down.
I wrote down all of my #'s the first time. I hit 62 at 4 wks (this # is close to where you are0, I then hit 2, weeks later. So it will probably we another week or 2 before you hit less than 5.

Re: Miscarrying naturally and Beta HCG
Octoberbride - I was measuring about six weeks, but didn't miscarry until eight weeks. I can't believe our timing is exactly the same.
Thiadora - Thank you so much for taking the time to respond and sharing that info.
I am so sorry you both are going through this too.

Angels - I just got my betas back from last Friday (6 days post m/c) and my betas were down to 45. I am going again on Thursday - 12 days post m/c - I am hoping they are down <5.

First I'm very sorry for your loss
I took about 5 weeks to get down to 0 but I also bled for that long. I think I am the exception though.

I have been following this post and I cannot believe how many women had there #'s return to normal levels within 3 wks! I wish I were that lucky.

No, my Dr. said that that can happen. And I am going through this as well. I have been bleeding since 10/14. He said that some women bleed for weeks and others don't.

Angels - just wanted to let you know I had my betas drawn yesterday...12 days post m/c and my betas were 5 exactly. My doc says I don't need to get them tested anymore. So, it took them a little less than 2 weeks to go down.

Re: Miscarrying naturally and Beta HCG
I started miscarrying on 10/28. I'm still bleeding; not nearly as much, but still there. On 10/28 my hcg was in the 400s. I was 7 weeks. I had my blood drawn yesterday and my hcg was 47. I have to go back in 2 weeks to have it rechecked.
I'm sorry we're all going through this.
