Mixed emotions about BFN - am I the only one?
I have to admit- the only thing that frustrates me about the BFN is wondering why it didn't work if we did everything right.
But, mostly, I get excited for the following month.
I sort of clear the slate of the thought of having a baby on a certain date, or being so many months pregnant at a certain time.
So, instead of having the October baby I was dreaming about this month, I start thinking - oh a November baby is now an option for me
Maybe it's silly, but there's a part of me that gets excited at all the new opportunities I get to have all over again each month.....

Re: Mixed emotions about BFN - am I the only one?
You aren't the only one. Granted, it is only our 2nd month trying but I am 38 (as of Monday) and I was always saying I don't want to be PG when I am 40... For some reason, this month I have a new attitude about it. DH and I are doing everything we possibly can and giving it out best shot. If we don't get the BFP this month, we will just try it again next month. We are having "fun" with the situation and really learning alot. Each month brings us more knowledge and, we like to think, a little bit closer to our BFP month. I don't even make myself crazy with the 2ww. I just take each day as it comes and enjoy the days when it is just DH and I because that will all change soon. And I was also excited for this month and our new start

I'm starting to get that way. I was thinking if it does not work out this month we could have a Nov baby and no one in our family has a bday in Nov....

It is def. a mix of emotions. It's devastating at first but then you realize you have to pick yourself and hope for the next month.
I think that when we stop hoping/planning for the next month is when we start to feel defeated KWIM?

What a great attitude you have. I have been trying to think exactly like this. Although I pretty much feel I am out now, and it stings, I am excited about trying some new "tricks" this month, and excited about having a November baby. I have already thought about the benefits of possibly having a Christmas baby.

Re: Mixed emotions about BFN - am I the only one?
I feel the same way. I was very disappointed when AF showed up last week bc I really thought this was my month and I was looking forward to my kids being exactly 2 years apart, but it didn't work out that way. I was upset for a few hours and then got excited to start all over again. I'm really hoping for an '09 baby but we'll just have to see what happens!
