mommies of one 1 year old........

Do you NOT have the itch yet for another?

Call me selfish, vain, whatever, but I just don't have the itch right now.
My body is back, as well as my confidence, I am finally in the rhythm of the daycare thing, and I have absolutely no desire to be pregnant again right now.....

I would love to give Gavin a sibling, and would want a late spring or summer baby (God willing), which means I would have had to conceive already......

I just wonder if I'll get the bug within the next year.....

Things are just so great right now, I don't wanna rock the boat.
Thinking about going through another pregnancy, even though it was great, the night feedings, the colic, the FINANCIALS!!!!, is just terrifying!!!!

Anyone feel this way?

Re: mommies of one 1 year old........

i def have the itch, but your right about the whole body thing..im comfortable with my body and have been running so feel better about myself (even though i dont really see results, it just makes me feel better) so to stretch out and hope my body goes back as good as it did the first time does scare me lol..i think after next summer we will try though, thats the plan for now

Re: mommies of one 1 year old........

My ds is almost 1. I had the itch but it went away Chat Icon . I wanted to ttc sooner rather then later but now I think I just want my body back for a couple months. First we were tcc and I was on Met (no drinking) then I was pregnant and now nursing. Dh wants me to wean ds after a year and then ttc in May. But I want some me time with a big bottle of Kendall Jackson. I want to be able to sleep for longer then a couple hours since once off the boob dh can take ds and I can sleep. Sweet wonderful sleep Chat Icon .

Re: mommies of one 1 year old........

I think if I was younger I would wait a little big longer - but I'm going to be 32 next month - meaning I will be almost 33 when I have the next one. IF by some random chance we want another after that I would be 35. I kind of always pictured myself being done by 35 KWIM?

I don't think I am in any way ready for the middle of the night feedings, the worries that come along with a newborn, but I guess (or hope actually) that once I am pregnant I will become ready for it all again.

Re: mommies of one 1 year old........

I think about it all the time and I want to have the itch but just don't!

It doesn't help that 2 of my friends are pg and due the same day!

I too want a spring/summer baby this time and have decided to TTC again next fall. I hope I'm ready then.
I had a tough delivery and the thought of being pregnant again Chat Icon , the sleeping issues, the bathroom issues Chat Icon , the morning sickness Chat Icon

I want a sibling for my dd but it wouldn't be fair to baby #2 if that was the prevailing reason. I want to want to have #2 now but we're just not ready.

I had the itch when my first turned 1, then again when #2 turned 1, now that #3 is 15 months, the itch is GONE!

He's almost 2 and no itch. I am 33 and thinking this may be it. I love him too much right now...I don't want to distract from his daily surprises...

None at all. But I'm old Chat Icon and we weren't so sure about a second child from the get go. When I developed lupus after having my son, I decided no--the hormonal shifts will only make me worse again, and I feel like I just started to get back to my normal self the last couple months.

We talked vaguely about adoption, but honestly, I'm not even ready to research that now, eventhough I know it will take awhile. Maybe next year!

If you have no itch and your age isn't an issue (from your pics I'm assuming it isn't), I would wait until you do.

Big Itch here - have had it for months. We just started trying again. Like Diana - I am older, and turning 35 this year. If I was younger we probably would have waited longer.

Re: mommies of one 1 year old........

My itch came and was scratched...for practically the same reason as Diana

For this one I will be 33 when I have it and then i want another one and I dont want to be older than 35 when that occurs

Plus--I LOVE being preggo--i know, flame away

Yes, I have to say I have the itch. Hard core. We are currently TTc and hope Amelia has a baby brother or sister this time next year.

I'm also 33 and already at risk for anotehr premature birth, I dont' want to take my chances waiting until I'm older.

I guess I have time for the itch to come, I just turned 28....OK FINE!!! I just turned 30, so to TTC right after 31 wouldn't be the worst thing age-wise.....

I just love the way it is now.....

Then wait a bit if you aren't ready. You have plenty of time (said from the POV of a 41 year old Mom)!

But seriously, I would wait a bit longer if you aren't ready. Your DC is only a year old, enjoy a little break before starting on number 2.

Re: mommies of one 1 year old........

You are still very young. If you don't have the itch yet, its fine..have fun and enjoy yourself.
I am feeling pressure becuase i'm 36..I also want a spring/early summer baby..so we are going to start trying in June.
If i was younger, i would totally wait until my first was two years old..oh well!

NO ITCH whatsoever.

I have 2 already though. I always thought I would have more and my DH wants another so bad but I just do not see it in the cards.

Re: mommies of one 1 year old........

I turn 30 in January…No itch at all. My MIL made a comment when DH was playing with DS and my niece who is 18 months older than DS, saying “ you know that could be you guys next year” I totally just laughed. The thought of having another is just not appealing right now.

I feel like I love my life the way it is with the 3 of us. I want to experience things with just DS before I have to share myself with another child, let alone my body.

I think maybe when DS is 3 or 4 we will try again…DS wasn’t “planned” so we will see!
