mommy's tummy question?
i'm a curious mom 2 b... there's so much talk about how stretched out our tummy's get etc... but what does it really like post baby? is it completely saggy? how soon does it take to look somewhat normal? someone told me there is a band/girdle type thing to wear after the baby that helps our hips fall back into place?

Re: mommy's tummy question?
I had one stretch mark after Juliette. One, about 2 inches long from my belly button, right where I had it pierced. I am 31 weeks, and I don't have any new ones. Everyone is different. And I was really bad, I didn't lube up or anything like I should have.

Re: mommy's tummy question?
Mine did not get stretched out. It is fat yes but that is because I eat to much
I do have stretch marks but that is my Mom's fault. They have gone away a lot in this past yr.

Re: mommy's tummy question?
I ended up with no stretch marks, don't know how that happened.
For about 3 weeks my belly felt flabby and just weird. Very very soft. But it is back to normal and started feeling completley normal prob around 2 months pp...

Re: mommy's tummy question?
I had no stretch marks! ThankGod!
My stomach felt loose like it needed to be tighted up again, it went back to normal in like 2-3 months, I still have a little pouch that's been hard to loose.

Re: mommy's tummy question?
I guess my body is different from the previous posters. My belly is horrible. I have tons of stretch marks and by belly hangs so much. Its like an apron (thats what people call it).
I was chunky, but not huge, before i got preggo so now my fat just hangs. I hate it so much.

Re: mommy's tummy question?
I am a strech mark. My whole stomach below my belly button is all marked up. I guess 3 kids does that to some. BUT it isn't terribly saggy. About a year after the 1st two it gets back to normal with some stomach exercises but being only 4 months PP yes, it's pretty bad.

Re: mommy's tummy question?
Mine wasn't saggy at all. I think alot depends on the elasticity of your skin.

Re: mommy's tummy question?
I had lots of stretch marks - they were so bad they bled.
7 weeks postpartum they are starting to fade, but they are still very obvious and I anticipate they will be for some time.
My belly button, once a cute innie, is now kind of black and stretched out.
And the sides of my stomach over my hips have this little "hang" over the edges.
I'm using firming cream and vitamin E every day to try to help out and now that I'm medically cleared to exercise I'll be doing sit ups like a fiend.

I think everyone is different. I didn't get any stretch marks and mine went right back to what it was before.

Re: mommy's tummy question?
I got a ton of stretch marks. My belly is SOOO stretched out and flabby. I wore a girdle and it didn't help one bit. Unless it did, then I'd be afraid to see my belly now
It is so bad it's messing with my mind. Nothing is helping. I have to wear a body shaper every day so I don't get a muffin top. No matter how big the pants are, the belly always hangs over.
Sorry, don't mean to scare you.

Mine too. The ones that bled are now purple and there is no sign of them disappearing

Re: mommy's tummy question?
No stretch marks for me. I have a flabby tummy but I dont' think that's from having babies.
I think it's from my lack of exercise & eating like a horse.

Re: mommy's tummy question?
at 5w3d PP I am a little "muffin topped" but I have not been cleared to workout yet since my c-section. I can fit into my pre-preg clothes, but they are my pre-preg clothes from when I was overweight.... ugh and my arms look like my nonnas....

Re: mommy's tummy question?
Right after I referred my belly to saggy, baggy elephant skin. Now, 6 months later it is a little tighter but still not tight, very loose.
I have a ton of stretch marks. They are faded in color, but are still there.
And I still have the black line!

Re: mommy's tummy question?
not stretched out, but TONS of stretch marks. with this new pregnancy, the sono techs i've seen ask me if there are C-section scars -- then proceed to tell me they've never seen such horrible stretch marks -- GEE, THANKS!

I guess everyone is very different. I have tons of stretch marks and feel like my stomach is very saggy too, 11 weeks PP. Not a pretty sight.
