Does your DC still wake up at night for a feeding?

Amelia just turned 8 months old and for the last month straight she's been waking up once a night for a feeding out of NOWHERE!

Previously she was sleeping 11-12 hours since 2-3 months old..She also def eats enough during the day.

I just hope it ends soonChat Icon Chat Icon

just wanted to see what other babies her age are doingChat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks!

Erin will be 7 months this month, but she sleeps from 6 pm until 6 am, and does not wake for a feeding- she goes straight through.

Yesssss...I haven't had a full nights rest in I'd say 10 months becuase well you know you don't sleep well once you hit 8 months PG then I had her and she is still getting up. But it is so weird because the patter is always changing. This week she only getting up around 5am and then going back to sleep. I did let her CIO in the middle of the night because I just couldn't do it anymore.

Re: Moms 7-8-9 month olds..Sleeping question

Yes, DD is 8 months and goes in stages. She'll go for a week w/o waking up, then she'll wake up every night for a while, in the early morning to have a bottle, then will go back to sleep. Last night, she went down to sleep around 8pm, and was up at 11:45pm...I didn't think she could possibly be hungry since when she wakes for a bottle it's usually 3-4am, but she sucked down 4 ounces and was back to sleep. I believe she's going through a big growth spurt now, she's even eating more during the day.

He only did it for a week when he was having a growth spurt. I began to give him cereal right before bed & it seemed to help.

First it was Gianna waking up and SCREAMING, now it's amelia. So i can so sympathize with not sleeping.

Sometimes Dh can get her to go back to sleep, 95% of the time, she wants to eat. And it varies, sometimes, like last night is was 3am, the night before she slept through, the night before that it was 5am.

And on top of it, they sleep in the same room, and amelia and gianna have both been giving us problems going to sleep, one cries than p isses the other one off, then they both scream, so we have to put them down sep again and pray the they dont' wake each other.

I have to say though, DH helps ALOT, he takes middle of the night duty so i can rest, but i'm still up anyway.

I have no clue what to do, i'm just praying it's a phase.Chat Icon Chat Icon

Ok so maybe it's just the age. My oldest didn't do this, but all h#ll broke loose at 9 months old with her, Dh and I didn't sleep at all til she was 11 months-it was like a newborn all over again. So i'll take one waking over that any day!

No, DD is almost 7 months and has been sleeping through the night since about 2 months.

She does cluster feed late in the day (1 bottle every 1-2 hours from 3 PM-6:30), so that might be helping her stay full through the night.

Do you feed her cereal in her last feeding? Maybe that would helped feel full? Good luck and I am so happy your DH is supportive, they all should be!

Jack will go weeks sleeping from 6:30-6:30. Then some nights he'll wake up at 2 - about three nights in a row.

Then, sometimes he'll wake at 3:30 for a few nights. Etc. It's random though.

Sometimes he even wakes at 10:30. I think it's because he's hitting some milestones. Who knows though!

That was my DD, then all of sudden at 7 months old, she got really sick and was waking, and it never stopped. I try let her fuss through it, but she just escalates, won't take a paci, right after the bottle, asleep within a minute after she finishes.

She doesn't get cereal, we tried oatmeal and she got a reaction, so doc said to skip it. She does get a whole jar of stage 2 and then 7 ounces right before bed.

Maybe it's just teething, who knows.

My Dh is awesome with things like that, i'm very blessed and thankful. He totally gets that parenting is both our jobs. thank youChat Icon

Wow, sounds like a busy (sleepy Chat Icon ) household over there Chat Icon Yeah, it's interesting that DD can go days w/o doing it, but then go days waking. But she's definitely waking up for a purpose, b/c she's hungry, sounds like the same for your daughter. Hopefully it's just a growth spurt and she'll settle back soon (my DD too, please Chat Icon ) Oh, and DD is 8 months and probably 19 pounds-- how about your DD?

Re: Moms 7-8-9 month olds..Sleeping question

How do you know shes hungry?

Yes about 3 weeks ago he started waking up at night, but I dont feed him. He goes back down either with me or int he crib after a few minutes. He will wake 1-3 times now.

The books and our Ped said at 8-10 months they lose a part of the REM sleep they had and so they become "lighter" sleepers and wake up b/c of simply wanting to be up.

So Im praying its phase...

Re: Moms 7-8-9 month olds..Sleeping question

DS was so good, sleeping from 8pm-7am and then he got double ear infection plus 4 upper teeth coming in and the schedule went out the window... right now he sleeps 8-6 but wakes up usually at 3am and wont calm down until I feed him... maybe it is a growth spurt? he is learning to crawl right now, so maybe he needs to eat more Chat Icon

Re: Moms 7-8-9 month olds..Sleeping question

I have to say since she turned 7 months, she does not get up in the night. I stopped feeding her at 3 months. I think the longer you wait the harder it will get to break this habit. What about the paci? Maybe its a growth spurt?

Occasionally she will wake and I'll go in and just hold her for a minute to calm her.

same here for DS, except he sleeps around 11 hours and sometimes wakes up b/c he lost his pacifier, but once he finds it or we give it back to him (if it falls out the crib) hes right back to sleep

7 mos and pretty much sleeps thru the night on a regular basis since 8-11 weeks old. When he does wake up - we never offer him food - just get him back to sleep - rocking him, let him cry a bit. We don't feed him before 630am if he wakes up.

My daughter was not waking for a feeding at that age. I'm pretty sure she slept until 5am with no bottle since 2 months. I know for sure when I went back to work at 3 months she wasn't waking in the middle of the night.

Re: Moms 7-8-9 month olds..Sleeping question

DS is going to be 8 mons old and was sleeping thru the night since 2.5 mons old 830p-6am. Now for the past almost 2 weeks he has been waking in the middle of the night just screaming. Tried rocking him, didn't work, then just started feeding him, now neither seems to be working. Now for the past 4 days he has a stuffy/runny nose & cough and I know he is teething because one of his bottom teeth has slightly broken thru. I feel so helpless. I have tried a bit of CIO but now he is pulling himself up to standing and is just hysterical. I am hoping once those teeth break thru and his cold goes away he'll sleep thru again.

SAME here!! She usually sleeps 10-12 hours a night, but last night she woke at 2:30 Chat Icon Very unusual for her. We had an early dinner, much earlier than she's used to, so I think that may have something to do with it. But instead of waking at 5:30, she woke at 7 this morning Chat Icon
