mom's of girls...
do you ever get annoyed when people keep calling her a "him"?
I know I shouldn't let it bother me, but it does sometimes. There are days she's in all pink and I can't for the life of me think they really think she's a boy. I can't wait for her to have some hair that I can put in a bow. Maybe that will make it clear!!!

Re: mom's of girls...
I used to always try to keep bows in Alyssa's hair for this reason. if she doesnt have enough hair for a clip - maybe a headband?

Re: mom's of girls...
It drives me crazy! The other day I had her in a pink outfit, with a pink patterned blanket and a bib that said "Thank heaven for little girls."
This man comes up and says "He's very cute!" ?!?!?!?!!?!?!?

Re: mom's of girls...
YES! I still get this very rarel now, but it annoys me to no end. She would be in full on pink from head to toe and people still would be like, he's so cute... It's b/c she had no hair for so long, but I still think she looked like a girl

Re: mom's of girls...
ALL THE TIME. People always mistaken her for a boy. I know she has short hair (we shaved her head when she was 7 months), but hello, she's wearing girl colors.
We usually get: "Oh, he is so cute." "Hello, handsome." "How old is he?"
My favorite, a 4 year old asks her dad: "Daddy, is that a boy or a girl, I can't tell."

Re: mom's of girls...
Didn't happen with my oldest since she was born with rod stewarts hair do from the 80s, but my 2nd has peach fuzzies, and it doesn't bother me all that much. I just reply with SHE is .......and that usually embarrasses them enough to leave me alone

Re: mom's of girls...
happens a lot - no matter what she's wearing. Not much hair on her head, so I guess in the absence of a hairbow, she's a boy - even if she's wearing a pink outfit or a dress.

Re: mom's of girls...
It used to drive me crazy but I overdressed her in pink to clear it up. Now she's all about the dresses, so there is no mistake.

Actually I noticed that which is why I suggested an outfit on the santa hat. I think people assume nipples showing mean boy - even for babies.

Re: mom's of girls...
It's happened a bunch of times, but it doesn't bother me--I figure it's like how people always assume animals are "boys" plus my infant carrier is blue. The best is when she's in floral or something! Most of the time I don't even bother correcting them.
However, I would never assume any baby was one gender or another--I would ask!

It is so annoying! She was wearing pants with brown flowers and someone in the mall asked me if I wanted to sign HIM up for a child modeling agency. No thanks!

Re: mom's of girls...
That used to happen to us all the time So I started putting hair bows or headband on her and it didn't happen as often but every now and then someone would say,"Oh he's so cute!" Like I would put a hair bow on a boy, come on now!

Re: mom's of girls...
Yeah, sometimes it gets to me...but then I really think about it, and they(strangers) mean no harm. I get it a lot from older people. She is only starting to get hair now at alomost 20 months. I was a baldy until 2...some thing you just gotta let roll off your back!

Yes even when she is in ALL pink WITH EARRINGS. Some people are just clueless. Not all little girls are born with a full head of hair!!

we are so used to it. She even has hair and is all in pink and STILL people call her a boy. We just laugh now but I get annoyed when DH even says it.
