Moms of girls in diapers (most likely toddlers)
Does this happen when you change your DD's diaper??
DD screams and clenches her legs together when I have to thoroughly clean her "privates" (I can't say any other words, I'm such a prude   )...this happens about 90% of the time, esp. after cleaning up poop that I want to make sure I got everything.
I spoke to her ped a few weeks ago, he said it's perfectly normal for the age group...she's not irritated or anything in there, she looks perfectly fine.
I was wondering if it WAS common, or if it was because of her testing she had a few months ago that was invasive down there, but she was sedated when it occurred but may have felt some residual discomfort from it afterwards, and she's just afraid that will happen again.

Ava's not in diapers, but she still doesn't like to be "wiped" down there. I def. think it's normal.

Well, I have a boy
But he does this too, obviously not to the same degree b/c his is on the outside, but he does it with his butt too.
I think *maybe* they are learning to either be embarrassed or that poop is kinda gross?

Yup! DD tells me "No" if I try to really clean inside. "No, Mommy do it!" I know it doesn't hurt her b/c she tells me when things hurt her. I just think somehow she knows that they are her privates---which to me is great!

She's fine with being wiped down there, it's just when I pull things apart for a deep cleaning (way too graphic, I know, but I don't know what else to say ) that she gets soooo upset.

Also a mom of a boy, but Logan's started to cover up and freak if I have to pull back to clean.
I tihnk Kate's right, there's a new awareness of some things.

DD does this too! She totally freaks, especially when I'm trying to clean the poop out of all the crevices!

It happens over here - and now because of this post, I feel sooooo much better
It started a couple of weeks ago, but this past week, when we wipe down there - she says 'Uck' every time!!
She does not like it at all.
it has gotten a little better the last two days, when I gave her a baby wipe and told her to wipe herself. So she wipes and then she lets me wipe  Freakin Drama Queen I have

Kristina does the same thing.... After her bad diaper rash, I take no chances, so when I spread her lala open to make sure that there aren't any party favors left over.... She tries to push me away, or clamp her legs together.
Sorry baby girl..... mommy is stronger and bigger! I am going to make sure that EVERYTHING is clean!

SAme for us! DD will say "EEEEWWWW!!" Because we usually refer to her poopies as "EW!"...so even when it's just pee she's like "EEEEEW!' and I'm trying to convey to her that her privates are not "EW!"  just the poopie!!!
She doesn't always like to have herself wiped either. Most of the time I try to distract her with something so she's more interested in that than what I'm doing.

Same here! He clenches his little tush together that I need to pry it open to get it there - and he covers his penis with his hand the entire time!

Marron does the same thing. Clenches everything and even tightens up her legs so they are kind of straight up in the air and I can't even move them. I thought it was just her because she's had a really bad rash in the past few weeks.

Hailey is now potty trained but she did/does the same thing when she gets wiped. I just assumed that she is sensitive.

Ok, thanks everyone Not that I want other little ones to be unhappy during diaper changes, but I'm glad to hear that it's not that DD was traumatized from her procedure.

Thank you sooo much for posting this.. Ive had this concern for awhile now and was afraid to ask. My dd is only taken care of family so didnt think anything physically happend to her, but it still crossed my mind. Im soo happy to hear other little girls are doing this too!!
