Moms of may/june babies...

What did your babies where most of the summer as newborns???

I went shopping today and bought a mix of 1 piece jumpers (short sleeve/shorts), some shorts and short sleeves shirts... but I also bought alot of short sleeve onesies that have the cotton pants...

My thoughts were in the a/c- the cotton pants would be fine...???
I bought alot of sets though and now Im a bit worried it will be to warm...????

Re: Moms of may/june babies...

I had a end of April baby, but he wore NB clothes through the summer.

He wore a ton of the Carter's one pieces and actually, just onesies. But we don't have central AC. For PJs he wore the light one pieces (we do have AC in our bedroom where he slept)

I am sure that light cotton pants will be fine. We had a couple of sweatsuit things he wore when it was cooler out.

Lily wore dresses all summer long...so that's not much help, eh?

The one-pieces that you mentioned were the biggest help with DS...born end of May. He lived in those things as well as s/s onesies for the entire summer. In the A/C the cotton pants were helpful too.

You did a great job!

Re: Moms of may/june babies...

He mostly wore onesies (no shorts) and then if it was cold inside I would put pants on him, or the one pice onsies with "shorts" attached... just liek that you bought.

I would get regular onesies that match the pants you already have from some of your sets. I only had like 3-4 pants that I put on with all different onesies. He barely wore pants.

The first outfits you posted...perfect!!!

The second...a handful would be helpful but if you have a lot...maybe return them for the 5-piece onesie sets...just onesies.

I remember having Lucas in just diapers in August is was so hot...if we went out he was in a onesie and shorts or those onepiece sets. If we had a party he was in a nicer outfit for just the two of us...it was barely anything.

Even in the a/c???

I dont even where shorts in the summer, because of the a/c...

How many pant sets do you think I need...???

I bought mostly newborn pants sets and the one piece outfits were 3 months (for later in the summer)

I have no clue what Im doingChat Icon

He would be swaddled for sleeping (even though he usually broke out his legs were usually covered). I think I had 4 or 5 pairs of pants that coordianted with the onesies that I would use. I remember that August was a hot month and I kept him in onesies for the most part with socks Chat Icon

But you bring up a good point...September and October are perfect for the sets with pants. How many sets did you buy?

I agree with Ang.

I mean, even in hte AC, if he is swaddled or covered with a light blanket that would cover up his little legs in the AC, you know.

I love those "rompers" they are the best!

You bought them from Carter's, right? Hold the reciepts - you can return anything at full price any time with a receipt! Stick with what you have but don't was everything yet.

There's no right or wrong...who knows what the summer will be like and if it will be anything like the past. You did a good job!

Re: Moms of may/june babies...

ok I have 13= short sleeve/pants sets

I have 18- either just onesies, onesies with shorts attached, or 2 piece shorts/short sleeve out fits... (mostly onesies that have shorts attached)

2 pairs of neutral cotton pants- that are just general...

I bought some at kohls, a few at osh kosh and mostly carters..

Re: Moms of may/june babies...

Mostly he wore the one piece short-alls. (That's what I call those onsies with the short sleeves and shorts. One of the brands I had called them that and that name stuck for me.)

He was born May 1st at 7 lbs 1 oz. We went through sizes very quickly in the first months. (Basically I had to increase the size every 4th week.) May was NB; June was 0-3; July was 3-6; August was 6-9. One thing about the short-alls is that you can buy them in the larger sizes and get more use out of them. They just go from being baggy to fitted.

Re: Moms of may/june babies...

Ryan was born June 24th. When we were home just hanging he was pretty much in strictly onesies.

When we were out and about he wore lose pants. Like these:

Or these romper thingys:

Same with my DD. She was swaddled when she slept, so she slept in a short-sleeve onesie and the swaddle blanket.

During the day, she usually wore a short-sleeve onesie with pants, like the outfits you posted...if she got too warm, I took off the pants.

We have central air.

Ds was born june 30th and we had a mix of clothing. We put the AC on in our house, so we had him in long sleeve onesies and pants. But when we were out... just a short sleeved onesie. Chat Icon

We have cental air so she wore a lot of l/s one piece outfits. Light weight but still l/s. If we went out I would put her in things like you posted.

Re: Moms of may/june babies...

DS was born May 10th and the most favorite things he wore were the one piece rompers (which I think you described) from Polo (bought at Century 21 or Carters)

They are light and so easy
