Moms of older kids. Come in and be honest with me....

How bad are the 3s? I mean, really level with me because I think Ava's head is spinning and we still have 2 months of 2 left. I'm starting to get scaredChat Icon Chat Icon

3's where worse then 2's for me! DS didn't start talking until he was 2 1/2, so once he was 3 he would tell really let me know what he wanted & tried everything to get his way. I was told terrible 2's - horrific 3's and that was so true for us! DS now is almost 4 1/2 and has calmed down so much and a COMPLETELY different kidChat Icon

Okay, you may want to pour a glass of wine...

3 is WAY worse than 2. Every last one of my friends agree. Chat Icon

The 3's are hard but you know what they are SO much fun too. I feel like DD is my buddy now - we go to lunch together, she tells me 100 times a day that she loves me and I am the best mommy ever, we have conversations about things, we sing to john mayer songs in the car, we laugh so much and yes there are days that I want to run away from her as she is acting out but overall as tough as they are I wouldnt change this age for anythingChat Icon

Oh boy - we only have just over 2 months also. I hope the 3's are better than the 2's. Believe it or not, the 2's have been better - or maybe just different - than 1's. Hmmm......

So far it's been the worst year for us. Not awful but bad in comparison to two.

Re: Moms of older kids. Come in and be honest with me....

3's are harder and easier.

Easier because they know how to express their needs and wants and are almost completely self-sufficient (toilet training, dressing, feeding themselves, telling you what they like, want to eat, etc)...

Harder because they know how to express their needs and wants and are almost completely self-sufficient.

Honestly, at just over 3 and a half I am shocked about the almost teenager-like behavior. Eye-rolling, specific stomping (not just for flat-out tantrums), manipulation, etc. I cringe to think about the future...

BUT, hanging out with Bella now is like hanging out with a friend. We giggle and laugh at things together, sings songs together and I feel like she just gets life that much more. And she is just so freaking lovable and still thinks I am awesome Chat Icon

Any age is going to be challenging I think because I have never been there before with a daughter...but I love it

2's were a nightmare for Joseph. 3 was a piece of cake.

2's were easy for Maddie. 3 was a little worse but really not that bad.

I have a theory if you escape terribles 2's, you get terrible 3's. If you have terrible 2s, you get an easier 3.

In other words, they have a spurt of independence & stubborness no matter what age you have it.

3's are horrible. 2's were much easier. olivia tantrums over everything. doesnt listen and keeps asking the same frigggin question over and over again until she hears what she wants to hear. also have a hard time with foods again and lying. hope that helps.

3 is so much worse than 2....

Ive said it before....I look at it this way.

At 2 they want to do it themselves...but cant...but you are allowed to help them. Hence making the peace...

At 3 they want to do it themselves..but cant...and god forbid you should try to help them..hence causing tantrums and general unrest..

At 4 they want to do it themselves..And they CAN!!!!!!!Chat Icon

Now....Look at it this way though...

The terrible 2's generally start at about 18 months.... and the 3's start around 2 1/2..so it'll be over before you know it..

3's were good and bad for my son. He was so independant, that when he didn't get to do something his way, the tantrums were totally embarrassing! And they seemed to last a long time!

My DD has always been a tough cookie, so I am hoping as she gets older, she mellows out. But she is a little diva already, and cried tonight for 1/2 hour because her ice pop for dessert didn't "match" her shirt Chat Icon

It's insane, I feel like overnight she went from being this awesomely easy-going kid to this demanding, wicked little diva! She stood on her step stool for 10 minutes tonight WAILING at the top of her lungs because the cat scared herChat Icon Chat Icon Then, over the weekend, she slammed a door in my face and told me that she didn't like me anymore. Because I was in the shower and didn't want her ripping the curtain open on meChat Icon Dear lord, I guess I better invest in some Xanax and ear plugs.
