Moms of summer babies...
When did you take your baby out???
We are getting a little stir crazy over here, but im paranoid about germs...
We did hit the park the other day for a walk (and so my older DC could play for a bit) but other than that- we havent gotten out....

Jared was born June 13 and I was out the following week. With all this rain, I don't think I would be out at all.

I was bad I took DS out after a few weeks-but now with the swine flu thing I may think twice I am a little bit of a germ freak but for some reason I just covered up DS and took him out-not to malls or anything but out.

Out as in where?
We went out for walks outside immediately.
At about 4 weeks I was taking DS to stores for quick errands like to CVS.
And i think at like 3 months I took DS on the train to visit my office.
So for public, places, closed area, not until 8 weeks, and I still tried to avoid it.
But outside, all the time.

Yea- the rain hasn't been bumming me one bit, since I have been stuck inside...lol
When we finally see the sun again, id like to go out and enjoy it...

Nothing wrong with going out for a walk...the mall, however, that is a no-no.

DS was born in August of 2007 and i started taking him out for walks at about 1-2 weeks old... to stores at 2 weeks old. he was my 1st
DD will be born in July 2009 and she will be out probably just as early as DS...

I was VERY paranoid. The first 2-3 weeks I didnt leave my house. Then I would venture out to relatives. By the time she got her 8 week shots I finally started taking her out in public places.
I dont think I will be so paranoid with my second and will probably take  out a lot sooner

We had Christopher out right away (born the last weekend in April) we had to move when he was 3 weeks old, so we really didn't have a choice.
He was fine though.

We went out right away. The first week I put him outside in the shade in his bouncy while me and dd played in the baby pool We spent alot of time outside in the backyard or at the park. He was in his infant seat in the stroller with the hood up and in the shade. He slept most of the time. Nobody bothered him. Fresh air is GOOD!!!

As soon as I had clearance to drive we were out and about. So I guess 2-3 weeks. Ryan was born June 24th.

DD was a May baby and I plan on doing the same things with this one. I took walks around my neighborhood and brought DD to parks to walk. We put mosquito netting over the infant seat so no one could touch even if they wanted to. I will be using a double stroller when #2 comes, DD will sit on the farther end and the new baby in the net covered car seat will be up by me. Anyone who wants to see we'll just say, after 8 weeks please! Then I keep the netting on and say one of the kids are sick. Seriously, want to keep people's hands off your kids real quick these days - say your child is sick and you are looking out for them. I still use it b/c I don't want stranger's kid's hands on my DD - especially when those kids are at the Pediatrician's office

I went out right away, well more like 2 weeks after we came home I was still sore, but we went for walks, to the park, car rides, all places outdoors, I didn't go to the malls or anything like that for 2-3 months and it wasn't often.

Born in August, out at the stores at 6 days.
I was in the hospital longer than DS after giving birth and we have no family around. DH had to go to Walmart and grocery shopping.

I didn't have summer babies but I still went out pretty soon.....
Baby #2 was out and about after 4 weeks b/c I had no choice since I have an older DD...
I would say any park, going for walks, someones house etc... is totally fine.
ETA: DD#2 would have been out within a few days of being home except I had help for the 1st month.

We have been out to stores and outside already. We took advantage of the nice days that we have had to head out. DS has been to Target, Lowes and the outlets already.
