Moms with summer babies
How soon did you take them outside, for walks and such?

Hi,
My DD was due 7/2 & she was born 7/7 & after taking her to the dr. a few days after she got out of the hospital, we took her for walks around the neighborhood (in her carrier) maybe at 2 weeks or so--just not where there was a bunch of people.
We did take her to the grandparents' houses when she was 5-6 days old.

You're due on Jake's B-day! 
I took him out for walks almost right away - probably within the first week or two. Out to stores and stuff I waited longer.
Sometimes it was too hot though...

I'm so glad to hear all of this.
I was thinking about an early morning and late afternoon walk, w/ the baby and the dog. 
Once summer rolls around I'm outside ALL of the time. I was getting nervous I'd get serious cabin fever if I couldn't bring him outisde.

End of June, and immediately. We went out in the late afternoon/evening for walks right away. Definitely when the sun was down and it wasn't so hot out!

DS was born 7/19. I actually didn't bring him outside that often because it was too hot and he would get prickly heat. So anytime we left the house we'd have to go somewhere where it was air-conditioned. There were a few non-humid days that were ok but I found that I didn't go outside as often as I thought I would.

within days of coming home for the hospital I had her out walking the neighborhood - I had a c-section or I would have been walking outside with her even sooner. My ped said it was fine to take her outside as long as she wasn't sitting in the sun and it was under 85 degrees so he recommended going out early or later in the day.

DS was born July 12 and we were out 5 days later (I would of been out right away but I had a c-section and was in the hospital for 4 days)

3 days after I got home, so DS was 8 days old. I took him places where there were few people & kept his stroller covered.

I would have taken DD out immediately but I physically wasn't up for it. I went for a short walk around the block when DD was about 10days old.

That was my due date with DD and I had her 7/9....I think she was about 2 weeks old when we first took her out.
