Moms who EBF- Starting solids question.
DS is 6 1/2 months and I have started him on rice and oatmeal mixed with BM. I dont pump normally but do pump a little in the morning to mix with his rice or oatmeal.
I am considering using some formula just to mix with his rice etc as sometimes I forget to pump and then I have to pump last minute to get some milk to mix it with.
Anyone do this and if so how much formula do I need to mix?
TIA

Ha! Good luck... DD will not eat her rice or oatmeal mixed with formula. Only breastmilk!!
I don't really measure, just kinda mix it together until it's the consistency she likes. I'd make maybe 2 oz of formula and save what you don't use to mix for the next day.

If I didn't mix the cereal with BM, I just used water.

Thanks...DS is not too bothered about it when I mix it with BM so can only imagine his face if I try to offer formula!! How long can I keep BM in the fridge for?

I left it in the refrigerator for as long as 5 days.

DS would always turn his nose up at formula, until we started soilds. I think as he got used to different flavor and textures, the formula wasn't so bad anymore. Sometimes I mix with water, sometimes mixing with fruit is enough, sometimes with formula.
