Moms who had/have PPD...

How did you know you had it?

Lately i have been feeling really down. I have little or no appetite and even when im starving i take a few bites and feel nauseas. I wanna cry for no reason sometimes and I get really angry over little things. After sharing a tiny room with DD for the past 8 months, we are finally going to have our own, bigger and nicer room (we live with my inlaws, they just had a room built for us) and while I should be excited, im really not. I have no motivation to do anything, i make plans to hang out with friends and then cancel them to lay in bed and watch tv all day. There are important things that i have to take care of like paying my bills on time, making phone calls, stuff like that, and i just dont. The only thing that makes me happy is DD, if it werent for her, i dont know where id be right now.

Does this sound like it could be PPD? I have suffered from depression in the past. TIA

Re: Moms who had/have PPD...

I have always been on an antidepressant but my depression was the worst after Jacob was born. I couldnt get out of bed, I couldnt eat, and I cries constantly. The fact that he was colic and cried 24/7 didnt help. I started on Zoloft and within a couple of weeks, I felt a lot better. This time around, I plan on going back on the Zoloft right away..I am not going to breastfeed so I really dont have to wait to start it again. Chat Icon Chat Icon
