Re: moms who have/had newborns sleeping in their room
We moved DS into his room at night at around 3.5 months. However, I did start putting him in for naps in his crib at about 2-2.5 months so he got used to it. It was a seamless transistion thank god.

Re: moms who have/had newborns sleeping in their room
With the first we did it at 10 weeks...with the second we did it at 6 weeks...I basically did it when they started sleeping through most of the night and I didn't need to BF on demand during the night...

Re: moms who have/had newborns sleeping in their room
DD slept in the bed with us until she was 6 months old, we tried the bassinet the first few weeks but she was waking up too much during the night and i needed some sleep. She transitioned pretty good... me and FH on the other hand didnt so shes back in the bed with us. I know, I know, we are crazy and will regret it in a few years but i just love snuggling with my baby!

Re: moms who have/had newborns sleeping in their room
We moved DD into her crib at around 3 weeks. With DS he's still in the bassinett in our room at 8 weeks; but mainly because big sis is still not in her toddler bed & we don't intend on buying another crib.

Re: moms who have/had newborns sleeping in their room
DD was 4 mos because we moved and she only got her room at that age. We moved DD #2 at 6 weeks because she was sleeping well and I did not want her to be waking up when I went back to work.

Re: moms who have/had newborns sleeping in their room
DS turned 4 months today and I still have him in his bassinett. I'm even sleep training with him in it. I'm just not ready for him to sleep in another room. I like him close to us.

Re: moms who have/had newborns sleeping in their room
1 week 1 day! DS was doing okay in the bassinet next to our bed but I realized that he napped better in the crib during the day. So last night was the first night I put him in his crib for "bed" and he (and I) slept for 5 hours! He's in there now for 3 hours with no fussing whereas in the bassinet, he'd be fussy every hour or so. I'm up because I rested and napped today but going to lay down now.
I still have the bassinet in the bedroom for naps and who knows if the crib does not last. But we'll see. He gets a better rest and we get a better sleep with DS in the crib.

Re: moms who have/had newborns sleeping in their room
He went into his own room at 5 months. I wouldn't change it for the world either, I loved cuddling with my little man when he was so itty bitty
Transition was actually not hard at all. We just started with naps first, then the next night he slept in his crib. He does at least a 7 hour stretch without waking.

Re: moms who have/had newborns sleeping in their room
With ds 1 he moved into the crib at about 3 months. We had bought a new mobile put him in to test it out and he fell asleep. We figured ok it's time for the crib. With ds 2 we kept waiting for ds 1 to go into the toddler bed. Well he had no intentions of moving so at about 6 months I went into my room to see ds 2 trying to crawl out of the co sleeper. I borrowed a crib that day and put him in.

Re: moms who have/had newborns sleeping in their room
At 3 months old we put DD in her crib in her own room. One night we just put her to sleep there instead of the bassinet and the rest is history. She never had any issues at all with the transition. She's 9 1/2 months old now and is still sleeping great in her room!

Re: moms who have/had newborns sleeping in their room
Ant hated the basi and his crib for the first 2 1/2 months, so he slept in the soothing glider. At 2 1/2 months, he went in the crib.
Mattea was in her basi in her own room from day one. I put her in the crib after a week.

Re: moms who have/had newborns sleeping in their room
We always used the crib for naps to try to cut out the transition period. At night he was in a moses basket in our room until 7w. I was so sad to see him go... for a day Then it was just so lovely to have our room back to ourselves that I don't think I'll be doing the moses basket at all this go-around.
