Max time was 12 weeks FMLA. Will get paid out my accrued vaca time.

This.

My first week was PTO

Weeks 2-6 were disability

Remainder was PTO or unpaid

My company does make exceptions to this on a case by case basis - many people have taken off longer than 12 weeks (obviously unpaid) but, it's subject to HR and manager approval.

exactly this

One year (I think you might be able to apply for an extension to take a second year but I'm not totally sure about that). You only get paid for whatever accrued leave time you already have, or you can keep your time in the bank & choose to go unpaid for all or part of it which is what I did.

same here except one year is with approval.

Moms working full time- Maternity Leave

I plan on taking 16 weeks total. The first 4 weeks will be accrued vacation time - paid. The last 12 weeks will be the unpaid FMLA. My employeer allows us to use our accrued sick time during FMLA as well, but I plan on not touching it. Lord knows with a new baby (in daycare), there will be new baby doctors visits that I want to have the sick time for when I return to work.

Most employers require you to use your accrued sick and vacation leave concurrently with FMLA so that employees cannot take more than the 12 weeks of leave. That's great that your employer allows you to extend the leave.

With DS1, I was taken out of work 1 month before my EDD and put on bed rest. I delivered 2 weeks early. I ended up taking 14.5 weeks after delivery. I used my employer's disability policy, which was about 2/3 of pay from the time I went out until 8 weeks after delivery. I used some accrued time after that and then took several weeks unpaid.

With DS2, I was with a different employer and took 13 weeks and it was fully paid. My employer paid me 100% for the 8 weeks of disability and then I used accrued sick and vacation time.

I did some research and realized that I am lucky we don't have to take our PTO and FMLA concurrently. Most people where I work do take them concurrently (I mean, who wants to be unpaid for 12 weeks) but I would really rather extend my time off. I work for the City....our benefits are pretty good. It would be nice if this country had uniform paid maternity leave (regardless of PTO), but thats a whole other topic all together. The situation you had with DS2 sounds like it worked out really well, too. Wish I had more than the 4-5weeks vacation time accrued by the time baby comes in May, but I took a fair amount of time off for my wedding and honeymoon this past spring and kinda started from zero hours when I returned in March. Oh well.

NYC Teacher

We get paid for 6 weeks for natural or 8 weeks for C-section using sick time in our banks

You can take 12 total but will not get paid past the 6/8 week mark.
