Re: Money amount to give at a wedding

DH and I created a system so we don't go broke or give more/less to another person in the same relationship to us.

-Co-worker/distant family member/not close friends; $200

-Friends/Cousin: $250

-Close Friend/In the Bridal Party/Close Family: $300

-Siblings: $400

Re: Money amount to give at a wedding

In your case, if it were me, I would give $250

Re: Money amount to give at a wedding

this is a very hard topic to answer. Dh and I give to try and cover our plates. we do the best we can.

We originally wouldnt go to a wedding with less than 300, than we saw what we got at our wedding, and realized the norm was around 2-250.

that said

If we already got a gift from them, we would give what we got, unless there are other circumstances surrounding

First Cousin/close friend 300-350
Co/worker- 250
Sibling/best friend: 400-500.

Re: Money amount to give at a wedding

Thanks ladies!! Just wanted to make sure we were still in the same playing field!! I haven't been to a co-workers wedding so I have close friends and family weddings lately.

Thanks for the breakdown also!!!

I guess I'm in the minority here. If it's a Friday night or Saturday wedding, I'd give $250. Sunday you can give $200. Very few places are less then $100 a plate on a Fri or Sat.

I agree- when I went to a co-workers wedding on a Friday night in August at Villa Lombardi, we gave $300.

We give atleast 250.00. UNless they came to our wedding then they get what they gave us. CVould be more, could be less. Thats just for friends and co-wrokers. For Close friends and family it's atleast $400 no more that $500.
