I don't know him, but this site allows you to see a doctor's education and if they have been sued for malpractice. I find it works best if you just put in the name, sometimes they don't list the town their office is in.

I love schnieder"s childrens hospital, i went there a lot with problems i had with Kaylee both when she was born and when i was PG with her. I don't know who that Dr. is but best of luck. I hope everything is ok.  for Katie and your family.

We consulted with him -- I believe he's in the same practice as Dr. Epstein. Is your pediatrician affiliated with Schneiders as well? I found that to be very helpful as far as sharing info. and almost no wait to get an appointment for tests and procedures. I agree that you're doing the right thing by going to Schneiders, but also dont hesitate to get second opinions.
As far as your DH and family, unfortunately you're going to find that you deal with things very differently. If you need to research every last diagnosis that the DR even mentions, then you do that. Follow your heart and your instinct. Of course you're taking off to bring her right in. If (God forbid) there is a problem or ( more likely) they want to run a lot of tests, then you should be honest at work and work out some sort of plan on when you can take off. At first I jumped at the very first appointment any DR would give me and just deal with scedule conflicts, but that made life so stressful. Be firm with the drs about your schedule and you'll somehow fit everything in.

Never heard of him but I hear Schneider's is really great. I'm sure she'll be in good hands. I'm so sorry you are going through this. I will pray that it turns out to be nothing.

Oh Kathy. I am praying really hard that it is nothing and they give Katie a clean bill of health.
You have every right for wanting to be with your daughter Wednesday and I'm sorry that DH and your mom aren't being supportive. I'm sure your job understands given the urgency of having these tests done.

My DH would probably be the same as your DH (his way of dealing with something so potentially serious), Im so sorry you are going through this, as another mother, I can totally feel for what you are feeling. Sending many and lots of . I think you are doing the right thing, and I'm sorry DH is being that way. It's a man thing, I could tell you so many stories of my DH when it comes to things like this.
I hope its nothing serious. What you described made me think about the times I had a pilonidal cyst. It's at the base of the spine (aka your butt crack) and gets clogged with hair and can become enlarged and infected. It was nothing serious for me, but I had to get the abcess drained.
