Must be a Mom thing :)
DH said he'd take care of the baby last night so I could go to bed early and get some uninterrupted sleep (DS gets his last feeding around 11pm, another around 7-7:30am).
DS was in his crib, I was in my bed, and DH was on the couch watching a movie WITH THE BABY MONITOR RIGHT NEXT TO HIS HEAD. So why is it that *I* was the one to pop up and go running when DS woke up crying? BECAUSE DH DIDN'T HEAR HIM. Yes, the monitor was right next to his head. Literally ON THE PILLOW.
Must be maternal instinct - i could NEVER sleep through his cries!

Re: Must be a Mom thing :)
I hear everything. I can be in the next room and I will hear a little wimper from the monitor. My used to sleep through feedings. He didn't even know DS woke up some nights.
My Dh lets me sleep in on the weekends. So today I'm in a dead sleep and all of a sudden I'm woken up by a scream. I jumped out of bed so fast and ran out of the room. Of course everyone was awake. DS was in his Jumperoo happy and screaming which he likes to do. My DH just looked at me and said "Are you okay". I don't think I will ever sleep well again.

Definitely a Mom thing - and it drives me crazy! DD can wake up in the middle of the night absolutely hysterical over I have no idea what. I'll wake up hearing her over the monitor, go running to her room, try to quiet her...dh doesn't even stir. If I wake him, he'll go to her and let me rest, but if I don't, he'll sleep right through it.

Me too - I can't even count the number of times DH has come to get me with the baby in his arms
Sometimes I wonder if she really started STTN on her own, or if I just didn't hear her during the night!

Re: Must be a Mom thing :)
I almost always woke up before DW, even though the monitor was on her side of the bed. Sometimes, I could get up, turn off the monitor, deal with DC, come back, turn the monitor back on and go to sleep and DW would never know. Sometimes she would know I was getting up, but since I was already up and out of bed, she just went back to sleep....
