Re: my first appointment - im terrified
awww...hopefully everything will be OK.
I also had a missed miscarriage at about 10-11 weeks... so I understand your specific fear of going to the dr all too well. I get this way too, each time I go to the doctor. I'm at the 10 week mark now... so I'm worried, but I just try to stay calm and positive, the best I can.
Once you do go though... after the good appt you will feel soooooo euphoric and good about it. Then the next appt you will be nervous beforehand and extatic afterwards. It's like a mini roller coaster for each dr appt.
GOOD LUCK!!! Keep us posted!!

Re: my first appointment - im terrified **update**
I have never, EVER heard of a doctor say a lack of symptoms means anything. Especially at 6 weeks!!! I didn't even find out I was pregnant until almost 8 weeks along, talk about no symptoms!
I'm sorry your doctor made you worry. At 6 w 1 d to see a flicker of a heartbeat is amazing!!! I'm glad you'll be able to go back in a week for an update. Many more prayers between now and then!!!

Re: my first appointment - im terrified **update**
I think he said something like he would feel better if I had more pronounced symtoms or something like that. Everything went by so fast and I was in shock that they saw a baby so I keep trying to play it back in my head. My mom told me she never had symptoms when she was pregnant with me, my sis and my bro!! Thanks for the prayers!

Re: my first appointment - im terrified **update**
I am going for my 12 week appointment this Thursday and let me tell you, I have to keep talking myself off the ledge bc I have been so concerned with my lack of symptoms. I had boob soreness and heartburn in the very beginning, but by about 8 weeks, I really had no symptoms. I never had any m/s, no frequent peeing, slight fatigue - but nothing compared to what I have read or heard from others.
We last saw the baby at 8 weeks and the Dr. said everything looked great, but I think it's only natural to worry in between appointments. I can't believe that you were told to be concerned over a lack of symptoms. EVERYWHERE I've read and EVERYONE that I have spoken too, said to just consider yourself lucky. I haven't had a single person raise an eyebrow. Try not to stress too much (I know its easier said than done). The good thing is that you don't have to wait too long before going back and seeing your little miracle again!!

Re: my first appointment - im terrified **update**
I didn't really have any symptoms when I was pregnant with my twins, or this time either. The heart probably just started beating a few days ago, which is why it was low.

Re: my first appointment - im terrified **update**
Thanks you for keeping me in your prayers! I think he is more concerned b/c of the low heart rate which I googled this morning on the train to work.I should really stay off google. The sono tech was very positive though. I really have to try to stay positive until next Monday b/c this anxiety can't help anything.

Re: my first appointment - im terrified **update**
I had no symptoms until after 8 weeks. I swear I wouldn't have known I was pregnant!
My entire pregnancy I'd say my symptoms have been very very mild.
Try not to worry-you'll see the doctor next week, which is great!

Re: my first appointment - im terrified **update**
I have never heard of a doctor being concerned because of lack of symptoms. That's weird.
I wouldn't stress it too much. When I was pregnant with DS I didn't have my first sono until I was almost 9 weeks. I had no symptoms. No nausea, no food aversions, nothing. He was fine and is now a healthy 2 year old.

Re: my first appointment - im terrified **update**
I never heard a doctor be concerned about no symptoms either. I didn't have any symptoms either really and my doctor said that can be normal.
Glad it went well otherwise.

Re: my first appointment - im terrified **update**
My first appointment (black friday) i was 5 weeks and 5 days, my doctor told me the same thing that the heart beat was very slow and he wants me back in 2 weeks to make sure the baby is growing and the heartbeat is faster. My appointment is the 14th and i'm so nervous!!! Good luck to you!!

don't count yourself out yet - I had no real symptoms at 6 weeks and at 7w5d, i'm sick as a dog. so symptoms may or may not manifest themselves anytime.
good luck next week! ITA with pp who said the heart probably just started beating.

Re: my first appointment - im terrified **update**
I wouldn't worry about you not having any symptoms, I think your doctor is probably just trying to be cautious. At least you get to see your LO again real soon!!
At 6 weeks it's GREAT that you've already seen the HB, focus on that and good luck next week!!!

Re: my first appointment - im terrified **update**
Try not to worry too much...I know it's easier said than done, but you'll go nuts. I also have very mild symptoms, and I worry too, and I'm a basket case between appointments. I thought 6 weeks was rather early for a sono, so the fact that you saw anything should be a positive, not a cause for alarm!
