warning dont be surprised the day of she brings them. If shes been told already and still writes it on the response card then she doesnt care and probable will still bring them. Good Luck

I had the same issue. No kids and DH's aunt and uncle RSVP'd with their 3 kids along with boyfriends and girlfriends. Some people are so unbelievable.

Ask her if her DD prefers vodka or tequila because EVERYONE is getting alcohol as soon as they enter.....
It's one thing to ask if there is any way to bring them because you can't get a sitter, but to just blatantly disregard the No Kids concept is rude...

some people are just downright rude
we put on our RSVPs "__ places have been reserved in your honor" with the number already written in--so that way people couldn't add kids.
well DH's SIL crossed out the 2 and put a "7" -- for their FIVE kids. rude rude rude
they were upset that we told them they couldn't bring their kids.....so they skipped the wedding altogether. they weren't missed

One of my good friends who lives in NJ was invited w/ her DH. Her parents were invited too and she was one of my bridesmaids.
We made it VERY clear, no kids. My niece was my flower girl- and even she stayed for only the cocktail hour... not the rest of the reception.
My friend's DH was so mad and said "If they don't invite my son, then they don't invite me" and didn't come to our wedding. We got stuck paying for his plate too- b/c he only decided to not go the day before the wedding- so my poor friend had to bring her son, and ask HIS niece to come with her to take care of him while we were at the reception.
It turned into such drama that I haven't spoken to my friend since my wedding day.  I felt so bad looking for her b/c she looked so sad all during our wedding,though she tried to put on a happy face. I miss her terribly but I guess she decided our friendship wasn't worth it as I haven't heard from her since...
ETA: I would make your FH call or his mom- you shouldn't have to deal w/ her...

Some people are really ballsy and have no manners. All I can say is she probably figured if she wrote it on the card you would be too comfortable to say no - so she would get her way - or if she is bringing her DD and her DD's boyfriend she figures DD is not a kid and you just didn't want "kids"? Either way it is SOOOOOO rude and inappropriate.
Unfortunately I wouldn't have the balls to call and say sorry you can't bring them - so you have two choices suck it up and let them come -or if you are okay with it - have a family member call and nicely explain the invite was for her and a date not for her, a date, her DD and her date. Luckily we did not have this issue. - But we also didn't invite kids - but our guests were happy to have an adult night out so it wasn't an issue.

Well the whole things is that her daugher is 3 and her boyfriend's son JUST turned 4. The only reason her boyfriend was invited is because she decided to move in with him after dating him for 3 months
If my 19, 18 and 17 year old cousins didnt get an invite then their 3 & 4 year olds are def. not invited!!
Then it isn't like the daughter is 18 and she didn't get the NO kids - yeah that is pretty ballsy

I know the pain you are feeling I had ONE person call me after they received their invite and ask if the fact that the invite didn't say "and guest" meant they couldn't bring someone. I told him DH & I decided we did not want anyone neither of us had met to come to our wedding. He said "ok". FF to wedding day, wherein he SKIPS the ceremony, shows up late to reception with uninvited guest and proceeds to suck face w/ her at the table, insult three other guests and annoy everyone at the table and then left early. Oh, and did I mention that the univited guest was a female not his wife????????????
I still hear about his behavior from the people that were sitting at that table.

July will be two years and I'm still getting comments about how we insisted kids be invited. It's done, it's over, move along. Sorry your SIL is a butthead.

that is so annoying - i'm so sorry she is not being more considerate of your wishes and pocketbook... these things can get so expensive and you can't please everyone - it is always hard being put in a position of trying to make everyone happy and always doing the right thing - to have people go out of their way to make that job even more difficult is downright mean.

I am a mother. Why do they want to bring their kids?  I was invited to a wedding with my son and I could not write on the response card hard enough, dark enough, big enough that we would not be bringing him! In my opinion, my son does not belong at a wedding. I would not have had any fun!

that really stinks. we had a family memeber not come to our wedding ebcause there 8 year old wasn't invited Its pretty sad, I just don't get it
why in the world would they even want them there? they could have such a nice night out with kids and enjoy themselves. I dont get it
