b.c FMIL and FFIL have said 'who has a wedding and doesnt invite kids?' 'who's going to entertain us and make us laugh?' um....hello?! LOTS of people don't invite kids and how about interacting with the other adults to 'entertain' yourself.
Seriously? Entertain you? Umm, it is a wedding people! Get up and dance and enjoy. Eat the yummy food and mingle with people you only see at weddings and funerals!

Re: My future SIL is ridiculous-Wedding Vent
As the parent of young kids that are more or less in that age group I say - why the h*ll does she want to bring the kids???
I personally rather enjoy a wedding celebration and the food and dancing (since we never get out anywhere else that nice too much) - I would welcome the chance to get a babysitter and ditch the kids for a few hours.
Drama!! I never had much drama with my wedding, I was lucky I guess..

Re: My future SIL is ridiculous-Wedding Vent
The only children we had was my flowergirl, ringbearer, my brother and my cousins son to keep my brother entertained. We didn't want children but one of DH's cousin brought their 2 boys and honestly I had no idea they were even their. They were so quiet but the parents didn't get to enjoy themselves.
Hope it works out for you

some people are just downright rude
we put on our RSVPs "__ places have been reserved in your honor" with the number already written in--so that way people couldn't add kids.
well DH's SIL crossed out the 2 and put a "7" -- for their FIVE kids. rude rude rude
they were upset that we told them they couldn't bring their kids.....so they skipped the wedding altogether. they weren't missed We did the same and had a 3rd cousin write in his girfriend's 4 kids. When I called and told him that no accommodations would be made for the kids (no highchairs, no kids meals, etc) he got really pissy & wrote another RSVP card in magic marker, tried to make it look like my original card & in huge letters wrote, "if the kids don't go, we don't go." They were not even remotely missed. We did not have any children participate in the wedding at all.

Re: My future SIL is ridiculous-Wedding Vent**UPDATE**
WHY OH WHY is it so hard for some people to hire a babysitter? you would THINK that these people would WANT a night/day out without their kids so they can have a good time & not worry about chasing them around for 5 hours
eta: just wanted to add that I went with DH to his cousin's wedding a few yrs ago. they have a HUGE family with a million kids. after about an hour, the place was over-run with hyper children misbehaving. boys were running into the girls room, girls were screaming bloody murder, kids knocked over a centerpiece and there was glass everywhere - people had to stop dancing until it was cleaned up. there was food all over the floors/carpet - it was a ZOO!
