my grandfather died, this morning
he was 96
he was a pain in the butt! 
he was a good father to his five kids. he was a good grandfather and a good great grandfather.
my father is a jr. i named my son after the two of them.
he was a tightwad...  he'd be so proud of my new-found financial responsibility.
he lived a full life. he came to this country just as castro took power in cuba. he SINGLE-HANDED brought his ENTIRE family to the US from cuba. he was involved in all of his children's lives, even after he and my grandmother divorced. he was involved in all of his granndchildren's lives. he even walked a few grand daughters down the aisle.
he used to give us all just $5 for our birthdays.
on his 80th birthday, all the grandkids took a picture with him of us giving him $5 each. the old man kept them lol
i'm so sad for my father. he lost his mother in 1987. last year his brother died and this january, his older sister died. my heart breaks for him.

I did laugh at what a funny character he was, thanks for sharing that, so cute  and about the $5's
