Re: Name Question/Advice
I don't think it matters about the middle name.

Re: Name Question/Advice
I think the middle name is so not a big deal (as far as using the same as someone else). It's a wonderful way to memorialize your DHs cousin. I'm sure your sister would be understanding!

Re: Name Question/Advice
IMO, it should in no way at all be offensive to your sister or nephew if you choose the same middle name and they wind up having the same initials. A - it's not like it's a first name so I doubt anyone would make the connection unless they were looking for it. B - it has special meaning to you and DH, and that is what is most important.
My cousin Debbie & I (mom's sister's daughter) have the same middle name and then Debbie used it for her oldest daughter as well. It does not have any sentimental family meaning though - my mom & aunt just thought it was pretty. As far as I know, no one is bothered by it at all. I actually thought it was great when I was a kid and Debbie pointed it out to me b/c I looked up to her. HTH!

Re: Name Question/Advice
nope, not at all... it's a middle name and a great way to remember your DH's cousin. can you give your son two middle names, in case you want to keep joseph?

Re: Name Question/Advice
I personally think it's definitely ok to use that name. I still might be using a middle name that my cousins son also has. Maybe you can ask her if she minds you using it. I'm sure she'll be ok with it.

Re: Name Question/Advice
I would not be offended at all. Especially for the reasons in which you are doing it! Out of courtesy, I would ask her first...but I don't think it's a big deal.

Asking first isn't really an option for us since we aren't telling anyone the name before he born.
