definately talk with him if you feel that strongly about it... the sex of the baby- its not like he picked a boy- it was a 50/50 upto nature thing... the nursery- with my sister my niece had winny the pooh- it lasted less than 3 years- then it changed to dora the explorer- with my nephew it was disney and also within 3 years changed to thomas the train... a sports theme might actually last longer....

but a name is something that the child has their whole life... if you are really iritated by it- then see about testing out other names- and keep dh's first name as the middle name... you two might end up back at his first/middle name anyways.. OR.. what about swapping the middle and first name?

(me personally my sons middle name will be my dh's middle name which is also dh's father and grandfathers first name, i kinda like the tradition- and i was would have made my kid a jr if dh wanted it- but he didnt)

I would be persistent about it, it seems like you have compromised and allowed him to get his way w/some things, and if you feel strongly about the name (which I think you do from you post--which you have all the right to), you should be happy too. I would talk to DH and talk to DH and talk to DH...Chat Icon I am stubborn like that

but really, you should be happy too, so stand your ground....there are millions of names, there must be one you both like

good luck Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

My DH was the same way - always wanted to name a boy after himself and his deceased father - as a way to honor his father. My retort was always - what about my father, he's dead too.

When we found out we were PG again DH said he wanted to name a boy after his father. I was still dead set against it. We compromised and chose our father's middle names as first and middle name for a boy. We were Chat Icon throughout. In the delivery room, my OB said it's a Chat Icon , and then asked what her name was, and we didn't have one! Chat Icon

If you really don't like the name talk to him. Someone on LIF has said that if she had to do it again she wouldn't name her son after his father b/c it messes with her head in the bedroom and she can't use her DH's name anymore. Maybe try telling him no more sex?? Chat Icon
