Natural deodorant
Does any use natural deodorant? Can you share what brand you use, where you buy it and how much you pay if you know. Thanks!

Re: Natural deodorant
I make my own I went the DIY route after I tried lots of store made natural ones that didn't work. The homemade one works wonderfully.
Equal parts (about a cup each I guess): Coconut oil Baking soda Cornstarch
I often will add a little more coconut oil in the end to give it a smooth, creamy texture. I store it in a airtight glass container and a batch lasts a LONG time.
You could also Google other recipes.

Re: Natural deodorant
This is the only one I've ever tried that works Lavanila
It's a bit pricey but I've been using it for months and have barely made a dent in the stick so it'll last a long time. I also have the unscented which I don't see on the website.

Piper Wai. Works great...no sweat and no smell. Highly recommend. Crystal has aluminum in it from what I read.

Ordered this a bit ago. Still waiting for it to come and try.
I like primal pit paste. But only the vanilla lavender light version. It comes in a jar. The stick was had too much baking soda and made my pits red. The light is perfect.

I had the same reaction to the primal pit paste stick, good to know the jar is different. I might try that.
I am also waiting on piper wai. I can't wait for it to come.

Crystal does not have aluminum it and neither does the Crystal roll on. We've been using them for years and they work pretty good - better for DH than for me. I want to try other types.

Re: Natural deodorant
I'm using Tom's now and it's terrible!
La Vanilla is pretty good, but I feel like still not effective enough for me. I ordered that on Amazon.
Just put my order in for that piper wai stuff, hopefully it works.

Thanks for the article - I will check it out. Looked at our crystal products and they don't list ingredients - just say aluminum clorohydrate free.

But they have Alum in them, which I guess is pretty much the same thing. But, since Alum comes from the earth, they can say it's all natural. That's just my take on it from reading the above article.

Just so you know, Piper Wai is in a tub, you put it on with your hands. They said they will be developing a stick soon. At first I thought the hand thing was annoying, but now I'm okay with it lol

Natural deodorant
Question for any of you - just curious, Do you use natural deodorant solely because of the lack of chemicals, or is it better than regular deodorant?

It's healthier in my opinion to not have all the chemicals/aluminum... I'm also nursing my 2 1/2 year old and that stuff gets into your system, so I like to keep it natural.
Incidentally, I also find my tub of homemade deodorant works worlds better than any I've used before (Secret, Dove, etc).

Interesting. I use Clinical Strength and still don't feel like it works that great, Maybe I'll switch and see what happens.

Lack of chemicals. I have a fibroid and I don't want to take risks in anything turning into cancer.

If you believe the information on the salt crystals websites, alum is not the same as aluminum. Guess I need to look into it more.

I haven't found one that works as well as regular deodorant - at least while working out.
Regular deodorant contains aluminum, which has been known to cause cancer - or cause cancer cells to grow. Your armpits contain lymph nodes, so you're basically putting that into your lymphatic system, and it's super close to your breast tissue, another big concern.
My research on this is minimal, I'm basically going on what I've been told by cancer survivors for the most part. I feel like this needs to become common knowledge because most people have no clue - I had no clue before a family member was diagnosed.
