Need a good white noise machine
Can you recommend yours? We need one that's loud enough to block out household noises - DD seems to be a very light sleeper. TIA!

I love the sleepy sheep. It's been on every night since the day we came home. I put it on the 45 minutes setting. The heartbeat blocks out noise here in Manhattan and really does the job.

we play music on a CD player hooked to his crib
Humidifier & an a/c work wonders.
I also have the lamb thingy that hooks onto the crib. (which we used when we was little)

I have the Sleep Sheep and it has a few noises- whales, heatbeat, white noise, running water. You can make it super loud. The girls seem to like it.

We got our white noise machine on amazon. It's a true white noise machine with no discernable pattern to it - it's like the ones they have in therapists office. Another parent recommended it when i complained that we felt lile prisoners in our own home since DS hears any little noise when asleep.

I have this one for DD
I had this one for DS and it worked fine but I got the Conair one for DD because it can be really loud and I liked having a clock radio with it. I love it. It's loud enough to block out anything whereas the Dex one wasnt that loud.

I bought a CD with a bunch of white noises on it (fan, cars, etc) and then played it all night long (with the repeat function). Was the best 15 buck is spent.

We use the sheep sleep which is great, but sometimes I wish it ran for more than 45 min. I end up having to run in there if he's not in a deep sleep and turning it on again.

Same here! Love it!! I can't imagine any nights without it. Even when he sleeps out at my IL's or parent's we bring it.
I keep mine playing all night since DS is a light sleeper and we have a cape so his bedroom is next to the bathroom.
He loves looking up too
