Need advice about company coming to visit
Background story:
3 friends from my old job have been wanting to visit me since Amelia was born in March. Timing has never been good for me b/c one week after she was born my FIL passed away. Then we were redoiing the kitchen and the house was a complete mess. I had no kitchen with 2 little babies for over a month. That's a whole other story though.
Then I got busy with prepping for 2 parties... a communion and a 1st birthday. So before you know it it's June now and they still haven't come to visit.
Now they want to come on a Monday of next week. Here is the dilema, we are going to FL and coming back late on Sunday, the night before. I will have a house full of luggage from 5 people. I planned to unpack on Monday, not have company over. Do I just tell them yes or reschedule for the following week?

That is a tough one. The only thing you want to do when you get home from a vaca is get organized and unwind.
I would see if there is another date they can reschedule in the near future - otherwise - could you go out to lunch or something that way you don't have to worry about them coming to your house?

I would definitely reschedule...entertaining would be the last thing I wanted to do the day after vacation. If it was family or close friends I wouldn't mind but not work people.

I vote to reschedule but you have to be set on the new date so they don't get offended.
Coming back from vacation is too hard to turn around and entertain...especially with the little ones.

Definitley reschedule. You will want that Monday to Unwind and get settled.

I would def reschedule. When we travel to NY for a couple days, i dont' want to do anything for day after we come back, plus the girls are all crazy that day from going from lots of attention and craziness to just mommy with them all day.

You wont need the added stress. Just explain to them about your FL trip and they should understand.

I agree. Reschedule. Who wants to deal with company after coming back the night before from vacation? They should understand!

It's been this long, I would tell them you are just getting home and want to see them when you are rested.
It took forever for one of my friends to meet DS, first I couldn't do it on the date she suggested, then she was sick, then DH was sick, it went on and on. She finally did meet him though.
