Need Advice- Sick 6 month old?

Hi Ladies,

I was hoping to get some BTDT advice. My DD is 6 months old and on Sunday had 6 poop diapers. 4 of the bowel movements were like playdoh and the last two were pastey. Normally she has 2 bowel movements per day so I was concerned. She was eating well (about 6 ounces in the morning, 5 ounces for lunch along with oatmeal and pears, 7 ounces int he afternoon, rice cereal with peas for dinner and 6 ounces at night).

On Monday however she started refusing the bottle from the start. Now we have been having issues at ev every bottle feeding because she will drink 3 ounces and then we have to wait a bit and battle to get her to drink the remainder. On Monday however she refused to drink from the getgo. All in all she drank about 10 ounces all day. She also had three bowel movement (all normal consistency). I called the doctor that night worried and she said it sounded like a virus and to give her pedialyte. Well yesterday she did alot better drinking 5 ounces in the morning, 5 for lunch, but then for her afternoon bottle she only drank 2 ounces and her night bottle she drank 3 ounces.

I should add that she is eating her solids just fine even though I make it super watery by adding extra formula per the doc advice since she isn't taking it in the bottle.

This morning she only drank 3.5 ounces but I couldn't miss any more work, so I am sitting here freaking out, not sure what is wrong. My mom says its no big deal sometimes they don't want the bottle, but that just doesn't sound right to me. Also she won't drink the Pedialtye

Also I should add I got her ears pierced on Saturday morning so she could have picked up an illness at the peds office.

I'm not sure but I know with my DS for about a week before his first tooth came in he had loose poops and wasn't eating good. Just would chew on the nipple and it was teething related for us!

But with that stomach virus going around...I'm not sure.

I was going to say the same thing about teething. It could be that she just doesn't feel that well and doesn't want to eat. It doesn't sound like she is having diahrea which would make me think stomach flu or virus. How is her temperment? Does she seem lethargic or fussy?

I have to agree with the OP's that I have heard that when teething there can be a slight fever along with diarrhea and lose of appetite due to the discomfort of the gums.
