NEED ADVICE!!! WWYD?
SO.. I saw the doctor today, and last week the baby was 7lbs 7 ounces and 21 inches already.. that was 37 weeks... I was 1 cm dilated and baby was head down, and low.... She said she sees me having a v-birth sooner than later..
This week, I am still 1 cm dilated, but she isnt that low anymore. The doctor today started talking about a C-section.. and wants me and DH to start thinking about it. I am very confused.... We have to go back next tuesday for a 3rd growth sonogram and to discuss the possibilities. DH doesnt want me to have to go under the knife.. but my point of view is.. if I am going to be unable to push her out, shouldnt I just opt for the c-section? But then I think about recovery, complications.. etc...
I am at a loss.. I know I have a week, and ultimately what the dr thinks is best is what we are going to do.. but what would you guys be leaning towards? Do I take the chance of labor if the dr doesnt think I will be able to deliver vaginally?? Or do I just go straight for the c-section?

Re: NEED ADVICE!!! WWYD?
After having a c-section and knowing tons of people who had vaginal births - I would at least try to have the baby vaginally. You are still early - and the sonos can be off a pound either way.
I believe if you FM headoverheels they told her that her son was bigger than he was and she ended up having a c-section.

Re: NEED ADVICE!!! WWYD?
the day before i was induced, DS was measured at WAY over 8 pounds. he was scared of him getting even bigger because of prior surgeries i've had, so we did an induction. the sono tech said she's right 90% of the time with size.
well....my little peanut wasn't even 7 pounds! he was almost 2 pounds smaller than what they judged the day before.
you need to weigh your options, but remember those measurements are just estimates. personally, i would be going for the v-birth, but that's because of my personal experience. you have to do what you think is right.

I haven't given birth yet, but if I was in your shoes, I'd try giving birth vaginally first, then a c-section, only because I'd like to avoid surgery if possible
good luck w/your decision!

Re: NEED ADVICE!!! WWYD?
It's your body! Do what you feel most comfortably doing..... do take in consideration what the doctor says.. but ultimately do what feels right. The baby may weigh less than you think... maybe doctor can induce you early so you can try to have the baby naturally ?? think of all your options... stay calm and go with ur gut! Good Luck!!

Re: NEED ADVICE!!! WWYD?
Personally, I would at least want to try vaginally. Growth sonos can be off & it's difficult to know if you will have trouble pushing out the baby unless you've tried. As for the head not being as low anymore, it's normal for them to change position. It's very possible for baby to not drop until you are in active labor. It's a personal decision though & you need to do what you feel is best.

Re: NEED ADVICE!!! WWYD?
I agree with the other posters about the sonos being off with the weight. Is there any harm in trying to go vaginally? I don't think that there is. A c-section can always be done if necessary, I think. For me c-section is a last resort option.

Re: NEED ADVICE!!! WWYD?
I don't have any experience with c-sections - 2 v-births.
If it were me, I would wait to see how things play out. The only reason I'd have a csection is if my child was in eminent danger.
I've known too many people that were told they couldn't do it, only to find out later it wasn't true.
Taking measurements is not an exact science. They measure head circumference, length of the femur, length of the baby. If you took the same measurements of me, I'm sure there are varying weights as well.
