need camera advice
i need a new digital camera please help will spend up to $350 planning on keeping it a long time.
looking at canon, nikon, olympus, sony

you are almost to the price for a SLR but way to much money for a point and shoot.

my advice is spend a little more and get the D60. $350 is a lot to spend on a regular point and shoot and youre right under budget for a SLR.

I completely agree.
If you're willing to look for used equipment, I'm sure camera stores have older DSLRs in stock. I sold my D70, with a lens, extra battery & 2 4-GB memory cards for less than that.

like others said, that's way too much to spend on a point and shoot. might as well spend another $100-$150 and get an entry level SLR
