Need healthy breakfast ideas
okay, so i'm still having some nausea at 14 weeks, and for some reason NO foods appeal to me in the morning... EXCEPT entenmann's pound cake. which has a gazillion calories per (teeny tiny) serving.
what do you eat for breakfast? looking for some ideas, hoping that SOMETHING will sound good to me that's a little healthier for me...
thanks

Re: Need healthy breakfast ideas
i don't want to eat a THING until at least noon either.
i suck on some pretzels for the nausea early in the morning...then I usually have some juice or fruit (so i don't pass out ) ... then sometimes, if the nausea is really bad, I opt for a whole wheat waffle.

Re: Need healthy breakfast ideas
before the GD thing - i was doing carnation instant breakfast - that really worked well for me...
now - i'm doing a weight watchers english muffin and 2 eggs. I was worried about the cholesterol, but the Maternal Doc said NOT TO worry at all...

Re: Need healthy breakfast ideas
I do Kashi Go Lean Honey Clusters cereal with some milk because it has protein and fiber in it. Some morning I might have a bagel instead.

Re: Need healthy breakfast ideas
I find most mornings the only thing I can stomach is a lightly toasted bagel with a little butter on it. Not the healthiest thing, but the only thing this baby will allow me to eat right now. I try to have some juice in the mornings as well (i find it helps a little).

Re: Need healthy breakfast ideas
I eat a serving of Kashi Go Lean (not the Crunch) w/ soy milk every morning-- occasionally I have some oatmeal. I sprinkle a little of the Go Lean Crunch on top for added texture-- I like to mix cereals.
A serving of Kashi Go Leani has like 9g of fiber and 13g of protein-- and has 140 calories. The Go Lean Crunch is more like 200 calories, and has about the same amount of fiber, about 9g of protein and is also enriched with Omega 3s.
All in all-- I feel it is a healthy and filling way to start the day.

i really like go lean crunch... when i'm not pregnant. right now it doesn't appeal to me, but i'm not averse to it either. maybe i will give it another go. i like it with blueberries it also might help with "regularity" issues
thank you for the suggestions, ladies!!! i know it's strange, but as i'm seeing everyone's suggestions, more things are starting to sound appealing...

I eat a ton of Kashi product-- and they all have a ton of fiber, in addition to a lot of beans (being a veggie)... and sometimes NOTHING helps with the regularity issues.

The thought of regular pooping is something that excites me SO much!! It's not normal. God knows how I am going to feel about my kids poops!!!
I don't think anything is happening anytime soon for me-- I was feeling more off earlier, now I just feel like my regular, uncomfortable, 39-week prego self.

Re: Need healthy breakfast ideas
Usually its either two slices of whole grain toast or kashi go lean blueberry waffles toasted- they are so good and not at all offensive to the nausea problem - at least not mine....

Re: Need healthy breakfast ideas
Whole wheat English muffin with PB, and a Banana.
Two eggs and cheese with whole wheat toast.
Mulitgrain CHerrios with 1% milk and a cut up banana.
You can always have a bowl of oatmeal. DH loves it but it makes me gag.
I also make shakes sometimes.
One shake is orange juice, ice, vanilla yogurt, and a little honey. I also add about a 1/2 cup of milk.
The other is a whole Banana, peanut Butter, ice, milk, and a little chocolate syrup. Okay, not 100% healthy but very yummy!!
If you want the measurements, just FM me!!!
I have to say that I had bad M/S in the beginning and I just ate what ever I could stomach. I was hardly eating, so if I wanted a bagel, I had one.
