NEED HELP! 1month old transition from RNP to crib
DD has been exclusively sleeping in RNP and now I'm trying to transition her to crib and its been he||
I did it one night - for 2 hrs she cried every 10-20 min. I'd swaddle ber (as usual) and give ber pacifier but it'd fall out & she'd cry! She had been being swaddled but fights it (bad!) and eventually breaks out!
I gave in and put her back in RNP that night.
The next day I put her in crib to "nap" (not swaddled) and she seemed to do ok, bu didn't seem like a full restful sleep.
Any advise???

Re: NEED HELP! 1month old transition from RNP to crib
I'm having the same problem. DD is 11 weeks old today, and will only sleep in the mamaroo swing or her graco infant carseat. She will not sleep in the pack and play or crib. We need to get her used to the crib, but she will only lay there for 15 minutes and then cry and scream until I just can't bear to see her like that... so back in the mamaroo or car seat she goes. I need help too...

NEED HELP! 1month old transition from RNP to crib
Is there a reason you need to transition her now?? I say keep her in the RNP for now if it's working!

Re: NEED HELP! 1month old transition from RNP to crib
i bought a crib wedge so DS can sleep on an incline, also he didn't seem to like that the mattress was so firm, so i put a large soft blanket underneath him, i know you're not supposed to do that though... but, it has been working for him so far.

Ditto. DD has been sleeping in her RNP and she's almost 6 months. We have to put her in her crib soon only because she is outgrowing the RNP.

A few reasons, but the biggest one is she will be going to full time daycare the end of Nov and will be in a crib (for naps) when she is there.
Other reasons, DH (and his family) have been urging me to get her to sleep in there.

Re: NEED HELP! 1month old transition from RNP to crib
I'm not experienced but my 2 week old DD hates to be swaddled now. We switched to a long sleeve sleep sack and she sleeps much better.

NEED HELP! 1month old transition from RNP to crib
I had my DS in the bouncer seat next to my bed for a week and a half when we brought him home. We made the transition into the crib by actually putting the bouncer in the crib and then after a few nights of that put him in the crib on his back. DS hated the swaddle since the day we brought him home from the hospital so I did away with them. Now at 7 weeks he has slept thru the night for the last 4 nights. It was trial and error for us and just needed to figure out what worked for him. We also have 2 noise makers for him. The sleep sheep, which only stays on for 45 minutes and then shuts off and my iphone I leave on all night long for him with the noise maker app turned on.

DS slept in the RnP for 4 months and napped in a crib at daycare starting at 8 weeks with no issue. You will be surprised what they will do at daycare

NEED HELP! 1month old transition from RNP to crib
I would start with naps in her crib and not transition her to sleep at night there. Would probably be much easier.

NEED HELP! 1month old transition from RNP to crib
We didn't transition DS until he was 3 months, but when I did I started at nap time and gradually started to transition at night.

Re: NEED HELP! 1month old transition from RNP to crib
Thank you all for the suggestions. I think we'll start with naps in the crib.

Same here! DD slept in her RNP from 3 weeks to 6 months. At daycare, she slept in her playpen. She slept well in both the RNP and the playpen. I just transitioned her to the crib 1 week ago and there were no issues, though I was soooo sure she was gonna have a hard time. I think the sleeping in the playpen at daycare actually helped with the transition in the end.
Good luck!

Re: NEED HELP! 1month old transition from RNP to crib
DS will nap in the RNP and he sleeps in the swing all night. He didn't sleep great in the crib when he first started daycare, but once they started putting him in the sleep sack with his arms swaddled, he started sleeping much better. He still sleeps in the RNP or swing at home. If DD sleeps well in the RNP, I would leave it alone for now.
