need help getting 13 week old on schedule
she eats 5oz every 4 hrs (normally) she sleeps through the night (7 hrs straight) but here's the thing... if she has her last feeding around midnight she will sleep until 6 or 7 am.... if her last feeding is at 8, which i have been doing for the past 3 days, she wakes up at aroun 3:30 hungry, then sleeps till about 9ish.... how can i move it up.. is there anything that i can do to move her feeding up????
i noticed lately that around 8pm she gets all cranky so i put her to sleep, but for example im up now... so should i just wake her up around 11 and feed her and see if that will hold her till the morning? or i shouldnt wake her up, let her wake up when shes hungry?

Re: need help getting 13 week old on schedule
My DD had the same problem. What i ended up doing is when she woke up at 3 I tried to give her the pacifer to see if she was hungry or not sometimes it didn't work and sometimes it did. There were times I would get her to go back to sleep until 5 and after a few days she was sleeping straight through til 5. Then I would feed her for a few days and then when she woke up at 5 give her the pacifier to see if it would work--then she went back to sleep until 7-7:30.
At 6 months she goes to bed anywhere from 7-8:30 and wakes up anywhere between 6:30-7:30 I am not sure as she doesn't cry when she wakes up sometimes she actually entertains herself in her crib until I get up at 7-7:30.
Good luck

Re: need help getting 13 week old on schedule
I wouldn't wake her up to feed her. Maybe try increasing the ounces on the last bottle, she might need a little more food to stay satisfied through the night. If that doesn't work she might just not be ready to make it such a long stretch without the 3am bottle so I would continue to give it to her and I would guess as she gets older she will eventually phase it out when she needs to. Based on what you said it would seem that 7hrs. is when she wakes hungry. If she's in bed at midnight and getting up at 7 that's the same amount of sleep as when she goes to bed at 8 and gets up around 3.
I am a big believer in following their lead, especially when they are so young as opposed to trying to get them on a schedule that is easier for us. I always just followed my DD's cues and she settled into good routines and schedules all on her own when she was ready. I was lucky though.......I had the easiest baby on the face of the planet. I couldn't ask for an easier kid...........I'm afraid to have another!!! It can only be downhill.

Re: need help getting 13 week old on schedule
when she gets up at 330 pick her up give her a pacifier and try to rock her back to sleep.. it may be more of a habbit then hunger. most of the time this works for abby.. if shes still up in about 15mins or so i will give her half a bottle. to try and not make it a routine of getting up at that time.

this is exactly what we've done since 8 weeks and it works so well for us. we call it "topping him off". haha
DH: set up the dvr - i'm going to top off the baby then we can watch grey's.
We feed at 7/7:30, change diaper and put pjs on, and then we dream feed him at 11. we don't really WAKE him up, we just put the bottle in his mouth. after that he'll sleep 7, 8, 9 hours.

Re: need help getting 13 week old on schedule
I think that if you give her more before bed she will sleep better. You may want to increase the amount she is drinking during the day. The 12 hours sleep by 12 weeks old book says that if they are eating a total of 24 oz during the day every 4 hours they can sleep for 12 hours. Just a thought. I know this doesn't work for everyone but it worked for us and a few other people I know. Good luck!

Re: need help getting 13 week old on schedule
so i put her to sleep at 8:30ish - she woke up at 3:30 (on the dot) lol gave her the pacifier, fell back asleep.... and i fed her now at 6:30 :) my 2nd question is: if she gets 5oz every 3.4-4 hrs - that means she would only get 20 oz for the day. so should i up her to 6oz????

You can try increasing the ounces. At 13 weeks my DD was having 6oz. bottles every 3hrs she was awake along with cereal and Stage 1 fruits and veggies. She may need more food. It can't hurt to try bigger bottles.

I breastfeed, I don't bottle feed, so I am not familiar with ounces. But I find that in general, when DD eats a lot during the day, she is less likely to be hungry at night.
