Need opinions on flying in 1st trimester
I'm supposed to be flying to Florida in two weeks with my parents and son. I've been reading about first trimester and flying and some studies think there is a link between miscarriage and flying early on. I'm putting a call into my doctor this morning to get her thoughts. Does anyone have past experience with this or know anything about this?

I did it. You should be fine. Ask your Dr to feel more comfortable.

Re: Need opinions on flying in 1st trimester
My doctor just told me to get up and walk around every 30 minutes.

Re: Need opinions on flying in 1st trimester
I travel a lot with my job and flew all over the place during my 1st trimester (although it wasn't pleasant with the m/s!). Just be sure to bring some snacks in your bag and keep yourself well hydrated!

Re: Need opinions on flying in 1st trimester
My OB last time and again this time had no issue with me flying in my 1st trimester. I will say though that you are at increased risk for blood clots though - so they do recommend that you increase your fluid intake and walk around a bit during the flight. But both doctors (last pregnancy and this one) gave me the green light.

Re: Need opinions on flying in 1st trimester
I flew to CA at 9-10 weeks. I was more prone to motion sickness, but otherwise I was fine. Just drink a lot of water and make sure you walk around every hour or so.

Re: Need opinions on flying in 1st trimester
I flew to Europe in my first Trimester (5weeks thru 7 Weeks). I just made sure I drank a lot of water and got up and stretched a lot. I actually would go in the bathroom and stretched my legs and do semi squats. (I felt funny walking around the plane. Florida is only 2 hours, so you should be fine. Make sure to buy a big bottle of water in the airport to bring on the plane with you. They only give you little cups.
