Re: need part time day care

I am sorry, I know finding suitable day care can be a daunting task. I know the large centers do not have much of a break for part time, but have you considered a smaller facility at all? A small group day care? I wish I could help you more....

You have FM and for something further west I know Kiddie Academy on Pulaski in Greenlawn takes toddlers PT. My SIL is a lead teacher there.

Re: need part time day care

Kiddie Academy told me that they would take my DS PT even though he will only be 13 months when he starts in January. I have not enrolled him yet but I will next month. They told me this back in May so I hope they don't change their tune when I go back to actually enroll him. I believe they were going to charge me the toddler pt rate.

Childtime in Hauppage told me they would do the same because they are under enrolled in the infant room so they are will ing to work with us.

Re: need part time day care

Yep, welcome to my world - that's why I'll be paying $2500/month in daycare next year when my kids will likely go max 3 days/wk. My daycare doesn't do PT until they're 3 yrs old.

Chat Icon Good luck

Re: need part time day care

LB you can try a home daycare. Craigslist has them in theri community section. Obviously you want a licensed one and some references. My sister uses one and has been very happy. I may find one that I can do drop in care since I really am not finding anyone I LOVE to babysit for the boys or who has the flexibility I do...

I just started with the child and family services website, mixed with a little bit of craigslist, and LOTS of phone calls, and visiting the ones that sounded worth it. I found a nice small group day care in its own building, and its working out really well. I pay more per day part time then if it was full time, but it is still a decent savings...

Re: need part time day care

I thought someone on here told me that Tutor Time in Massapequa does PT for infants too. But, it's not much (like $250 for 3 days/wk vs. $300 for 5 days a wk - something like that).

When I was looking Tutor Time took PT and so did KinderCare. The Tutor Time I checked out was $50 a day. Kindercare was like $75.

Re: need part time day care

There is a daycare center in DH's building (Rexcorp plaza) in Uniondale that does 2/3 days a week and they take infants.

We looked into it with DS but it was expensive, something like $120/day.

Let me know if you want me to get the name when I go home tonight.
